Chris Humphrey is having a terrific debut. Two assists already for the two Cummings goals and any amount of other good moments. Paul Dixon is having an awful time trying to deal with him. This is very easy and very impressive from Hibs. United are nowhere near it at the moment

United are a bag of nerves. Everything is rushed and panicky. None of them have been able to get the ball down and bring a bit of composure to the ranks. Hibs are looking like a confident and dangerous side. Plenty of width through Chris Humphrey and Martin Boyle. Plenty of threat from Jason Cummings. And there's Kris Commons, lurking.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2017

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

Hibs are totally dominant as Willie Collum blows for half-time. United have been lacklustre to say the least and certainly haven't looked like title contenders on this evidence.

It's a particularly big half-time team talk for United's Ray McKinnon as he faces the prospect of his side falling four points behind their main title rivals.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43mins

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

Midfielder Stewart Murdoch goes into the referee's book for a poor challenge on Marvin Bartley. That's the second yellow card for United, the first being Charlie Telfer.

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

Willo Flood is having a nightmare and another poor ball into his own penalty box from the wee United midfielder bounces off the shin of William Edjenguele for a corner. Fortunately for United the ball flashes across the face of goal without a taker.

  8. Hibees salute departed fanspublished at 34mins

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

The home fans stage two sustained minutes' applause for fellow supporters Shaun Woodburn and Shaun McKinley, both of whom passed away in recent weeks.

  9. Postpublished at 32mins

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

Jason Cummings is through again, but the whistle has already gone for offside as he clips the crossbar with a chip over the United goalkeeper.

  10. 'Brilliant from Humphrey'published at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2017

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

Former Hibs forward Tam McManus on BBC Radio Scotland: "Chris Humphrey has been the difference.

"Hibs have been crying out for that all season - a winger that goes at people.

"Not many full-backs in Scotland could deal with that. It was a great first touch and a great delivery into the box. Brilliant from Humphrey."

  11. Cummings & Humphrey combine againpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2017

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

These two are tearing up Easter Road - Chris Humphrey, on his Hibs debut, has been flying up and down the right flank, and has teed up Jason Cummings for both his goals.

    Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

United are all over the place and Willo Flood plays a terrible pass across the face of his own goal and straight to Kris Commons, but the Hibs midfielder is unable to tee up Jason Cummings for a quick-fire hat-trick.

  13. goal

GOAL Hibernian 2-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 25mins

    Jason Cummings

What did I tell you about Chris Humphrey terrorising Paul Dixon. The new signing races past the left-back and his low cross is turned in by Jason Cummings at the front post for his 12th goal of the season.

  14. Postpublished at 24mins

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

United win their first corner as David Gray heads clear from a dangerous cross to the back post, but the chance is wasted by Charlie Telfer. At least the visitors are starting to steady themselves and come into the game.

  15. Cummings pace stretching Unitedpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2017

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

Former Dundee United midfielder Ryan McGowan on BBC Radio Scotland: "The difference at the moment is that Jason Cummings is stretching the play with his pace behind the Dundee United defence, whereas Nick van der Velden is coming towards the ball and making it easy for the Hibs centre-backs."

  17. Postpublished at 15mins

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

Jason Cummings finds room on the United left and, when he finds Kris Commons, the on-loan Celtic midfielder's shot deflects off a defender's shin and clear. More danger for the visiting defence, which is rocking at the moment.

  18. 'Just desserts' for Hibspublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2017

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

Former Hibs forward Tam McManus on BBC Radio Scotland: "It has been coming. It has been a great start by Hibs and they have got their just desserts. Jason Cummings looked like he was offside, but Dundee United were slow coming out."

Former United midfielder Ryan McGowan on BBC Radio Scotland: "Hibs have really come out and stamped their mark on the game. It could be a long night for Dundee United."

  19. Postpublished at 8mins

    Hibernian 1-0 Dundee United

Stewart Murdoch's poor pass-back puts William Edjenguele in all sorts of trouble and the United defender has to stretch to concede a corner under pressure.

  20. goal

GOAL Hibernian 1-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 6mins

    Jason Cummings

It had been coming - and it had to be Cummings. Chris Humphrey's mis-hit shot finds its way to unmarked striker Jason and he picks his spot from 12 yards out.
