Quote MessageIt's interesting to see how Hibs have got their noses ahead in the battle of the top of the Championship in the last few weeks. They've not been fluid or all that convincing, but they've managed to dig out results when not playing their best stuff. And they tend to leave it late. They beat Falkirk last weekend with an 87th winner, they got a draw against Raith with an 88th minute equaliser and eked out another point against Morton with an 81st minute goal. Ray McKinnon will know that, even if his team takes a lead into the last 10 minutes, Hibs tend to finish matches strongly. Big crowd, big atmosphere here

Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon on BBC Radio Scotland: "Top of the table clash, I believe it will be a full house, I am really looking forward to the game.
"I have always felt we needed a bit more competition up top and I am delighted to be where we are considering we don't have any competition for Simon Murray up front.
"We tried to get Thomas Mikkelsen in the summer and I am thankful for the board to sanctioning it now.
"He has been on holiday for a couple of weeks, which is not ideal, but he is on the bench and might make an appearance.
"I hope it is going to a great game and a great advert for the Championship."

Quote MessageThere's no doubt it's a big game. We knew that when the fixtures came out. It's early in the season. No matter what happens after Friday night, there's a lot to play for

Hibernian v Dundee United (19:45)
Well, it wasn't Nadir Ciftci after all - at least not yet.
United manager Ray McKinnon had been talking about the need for a striker to be signing in January and attention had turned to the Turk whose move from Tannadice to Celtic has turned sour.
Instead, it is Thomas Mikkelsen who has arrived on loan from Odense until the end of the season.
United have received international clearance for the 26-year-old Dane, who has scored two goals in 12 games this season after a loan spell at Gothenburg last year.
So he goes straight into the squad tonight but starts on the bench.
Hibernian v Dundee United (19:45)
After his side tasted defeat for the first time in 15 games at Dumbarton, United manager Ray McKinnon has made three changes to his starting line-up.
At right-back, veteran Sean Dillon is replaced with summer signing Lewis Toshney, while Tony Andreu - whose penalty sunk Hibs last time the sides met - and Nick van der Velden come in for Blair Spittal and Simon Murray as part of a front three.
Hibernian v Dundee United (19:45)
Tony Andreu's second-half penalty handed Dundee United victory over Hibs the last time they met - at the start of last month.
Hibernian v Dundee United (19:45)
Hibs boss Neil Lennon has made three changes from Saturday's win over Falkirk, with new signing Chris Humphrey, the former Motherwell winger released by Preston North End, going straight into the starting XI after signing last weekend.
He replaces Andrew Shinnie in midfield, where the powerful Marvin Bartley also comes in for Scott Martin.
Up front, the formidable figure of Grant Holt is usurped by the rather more svelte speedster, Martin Boyle.
John McGinn is back in the squad following ankle surgery in November and could feature from the bench.

Pre-season favourites Hibs go into tonight's game with the slight advantage - one point - over the side relegated from the top-flight last season.
The lead has been toing and froing between the two in recent weeks, so is it the visiting Terrors' turn to go back to the top, or will Neil Lennon's side create a bit of fresh air between the two?
Whatever the score tonight, it is developing into a two-horse race, with United 10 points clear of Greenock Morton in third.
