    Liverpool 0-1 Wolves

A heavy challenge by Lee Evans on Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria earns the hosts a free-kick just past the halfway line.

The Reds try to play it forward but Alberto Moreno is dispossessed by Helder Costa.

They regain it again and Roberto Firmino controls it well in the box before the ball goes out for a corner, which comes to nothing.

    Liverpool 0-1 Wolves

Goalscorer Richard Stearman comes to the rescue in his own box by booting clear from close range for Wolves.

Liverpool have had 85% possession at the moment, but they've not had a clear cut chance yet.

When will Klopp learn? I totally agree with giving youth a chance but the FA Cup, is now our best chance to win something, we need our strongest team out, we just scraped past Plymouth, lets not have a repeat, please.

The thing with Liverpool, they just need to play the ball at a higher pace.

They have so many touches and it just allows the opposition to get back into position. You're just not gonig to be able to cut opposition open, no matter what division they come from.

    Liverpool 0-1 Wolves

Where is the marking? Though I don't think the Wolves fans will be worrying about that.

That goal from Richard Stearman was his first goal in any competition for the best part of three years.

His last goal was for Wolves against Leyton Orient in April 2014, 1013 days ago.

The defender has signed for Fulham and then returned to his home-town club on loan in the intervening years.

That would have been one of the great FA Cup goals! Not just this season but of any season!

  7. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Liverpool 0-1 Wolves

What a run by Helder Costa!

Wolves go on the counter-attack after Alberto Moreno's corner is cleared and Costa runs about 70 yards without any contact, jinking his way beyond this player and that, before Ben Woodburn finally gets in the way.

Costa must have got beyond about five Red shirts on that sprint but could not quite keep his strike on target when he eventually shot.

Liverpool maintain possession in the middle of the field, staying patient in their build-up play.

Roberto Firmino tries to break clear but he's scuppered.

Lucas pumps the ball forward again and Divock Origi puts it out of play on the right-hand side.

We think that goal was timed at 53 seconds. Incredible scenes.

Richard Stearman, who is Wolverhampton born and bred, was in the squad the last time Wolves beat Liverpool in the Premier League back in December 2010.

Matt Doherty has a free-kick on the edge of the area for the visitors, but the Liverpool defence scramble the ball clear.

It's such a great goal and a great start from Wolves - but from Liverpool's point of view it is absolutely awful defending.

Karius sort of came out, danced around his handbag and didn't do anything.

    Liverpool, oh dear.

    Wow! Just wow.

Within a minute of kick-off, Championship side Wolves are ahead at Anfield.

A Helder Costa free-kick finds the head of Richard Stearman and he nods in easily. Terrible defence from Liverpool.

It is a slightly stronger than the team that played against Plymouth. Without stating the obvious, Liverpool need to win.

I'm slightly surprised there are so many changes, they've lacked confidence with their strongest team out and I think it's really important for the football club that they get a win today.

Wolves will be very competitive and they've got nothing to lose today.

Liverpool are a very exciting team, built to attack. There's a lot of fluidity in midfield but there's not a lot of backbone and if they're not scoring goals and pressing teams, there's always vulnerability.

They are getting punished even when they are playing well and conceding goals.

You can't read too much into the nine changes, but it's such fine margins. They're getting punished for things that maybe aren’t as bad as we think they are.
