Sutton legend Tony Rains who scored against Coventry in the FA Cup in 1989: "They did terrific. We're losing sight of how big the gap is between the two sides. Sutton need to stay in the game as much as possible and who knows."

Former Sutton player Matt Hanlan, who scored when they beat Coventry in 1989, said: "Sutton have a chance, they have to keep going, keep it tight and a chance will come their way. If they take it, then who knows?"

Telly have just shown clips from Sutton's win against Coventry in 1989 (if you're too young to remember Coventry being a thing, it was a big deal).

Trust me, Arsenal much prefer today's Gander Green Lane to the one of 28 years ago. The goalmouths were covered in enough sawdust to house 1,000 hamsters.

Sutton chairman Bruce Elliott: I think we've done exceptionally well. After about half an hour I was beginning to think we have half a chance here, but then they scored. But I'm exceptionally proud of how we played that half.

Former Crystal Palace and Newcastle boss Alan Pardew: "The surface makes it difficult of course but the pace of a Premier League team unhinges Sutton now and again, but Sutton have had their moments."

Sutton have got to keep going and keep believing in themselves and who knows what will happen.

Roarie Deacon has a great spirit and keeps popping up everywhere. Once he settles down he could do something dangerous.

Arsenal have been sloppy at times. Too many touches on the ball, they look more dangerous when they take one or two touches. They've looked pretty dangerous when they have got down to the byeline but their final ball has been poor.

Arsenal in control here and the feeling remains that this FA Cup tie is only heading one way - but the reaction of Sutton United's fans at half-time suggests they stlll think they have real hope.

And why not? Sutton were presented with a real chance moments before the break after David Ospina's poor clearance let in Adam May. A big chance wasted.

Arsenal have had the better chances. We’ve only seen two shots on target from them but the finish from Perez was excellent. He comes onto that left foot and it’s a wonderful finish from him but you would expect that from Arsenal.

    Sutton 0-1 Arsenal

There really hasn't been much between them. This is the reason that Arsenal lead. Worth watching for Arsene Wenger celebrating, then remembering that his team are playing against Sutton...

Sutton's game plan was going perfectly for 25 minutes or so but I think they got a little excited, committed men forward and got punished on the break but they are still in it and will get a chance.

And breathe. Deep sigh of relief for Arsenal, gasps for the tireless Sutton players. It's only a slender lead - Sutton are holding their own.

May there on his weaker foot but he has to get it on target. He let Arsenal off with that strike.

    Sutton 0-1 Arsenal

Huge, huge Sutton chance! David Ospina gifts the ball to Adam May, who has a clear run on goal. He tries to wrap his left foot around it, but it's wide of the post. There were gold shirts around him too. Anything would have been better than that.

    Sutton 0-1 Arsenal

One man in the Sutton side not having a great game is centre-forward Maxime Biamou. Everything he touches bounces off him. It's like having a trampoline up front.

Just wide! Really good, end-to-end stuff. Theo Walcott leads the Arsenal break, the Sutton defence is all over the show and Alex Iwobi's shot is deflected past the post. Sutton might need half-time here.
