I played against non-league Stevenage when I was at Newcastle. We went 1-0 up after three minutes but Stevenage came back and took us to a replay. We only just got through.

We work in the Premier League every week but nothing beats this. There could be a huge giant-killing tonight.

I feel nervous sitting here as an Arsenal man. I wouldn't be nervous if I was out there playing because it's a game you want to win. It needs to be men out there tonight.

We have Sutton, Lincoln and Millwall to thank for breathing a bit of life into the FA Cup. This is what it is all about tonight. Lincoln are in the quarter-finals, could Sutton do it? Incredible.

  6. 'Set pieces and chilling'published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2017

Sutton manager Paul Doswell, speaking to BBC Sport: "We don't normally get more than 1500 here, what a great occasion for everyone. There are so many young people here to watch, and that's what we're all about.

"It's a bit surreal, seeing the team they've put out, it's very respectful that's for sure. Today we've done some set pieces training at midday, but after that we just chilled at the hotel which was great because normally the players are working.

"We've been calm, but now the buzz of excitement has started. What we've said is it's 11 v 11, once the game starts if you strain every sinew you will have a chance. Arsenal have a 4G pitch at their training ground but we are at home. That gives us a chance tonight.

"We're not surrounded by bodyguards - because every one of their players was - but by good people and good players. They have got to give it everything."

It's an absolutely stonking atmos inside Gander Green Lane, the sort you could cut with a knife and spread over three rounds of toast. The ground is already packed, spectators are climbing over one another for a decent view, people in surrounding houses are hanging out of windows. If you live in Sutton, there is no way that you don't know this is happening.

Once in a footballing generation there comes a match so incredible that it belongs in the pages of Roy of the Rovers.

Perhaps with this cup run Sutton have surpassed even all those non-league heroes of legend, from Blyth to Wimbledon, Yeovil to Leatherhead, Woking to Hereford - even Sutton's own 1989 vintage.

This is a game that has upturned Sutton's world so completely that maybe no one should be surprised that, since beating Leeds, they have drawn one and lost three games - scoring only once.

Arsenal's world came crashing down in Munich. Wenger's response to his critics in Friday's press conference was well aimed. By stating that he'll be managing somewhere next season - even it's not at Arsenal - he was effectively telling them there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Becoming the first manager to win the FA Cup seven times would be a good way to sign off - if that's what he chooses.

Daily Mirror Chief Football Writer John Cross on BBC Radio 5 live: "It'll be the biggest FA Cup upset, certainly of my memory, and I think it would just push Arsene Wenger further towards the edge.

"I do think perhaps the time has come in the summer for a change. I don't think even if Wenger lost here tonight you'd see him go before the end of the season.

"But it would seem an absolutely massive crisis, it would be by far the most embarrassing, most humiliating result of his 20 year reign."
