Could the Sam Allardyce effect be starting to take hold at Crystal Palace?

The Eagles have kept clean sheets in both of their recent wins and Big Sam wants to keep their unbeaten run going.

"For me it's about trying to go undefeated for as long as possible now," Allardyce said this week.

"We're disappointed if we draw matches, but it's still a point.

"We have to be at our very best, 100% every game between now and the end of the season. We can't let that drop off."

Crystal Palace v Watford (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Watford conceded four goals at home to Southampton last time out, when they paid the price for giving Saints far too much time and space to play. I am going to go with another Palace win.

    Prediction:  2-0

    Bottom of the Premier League

Both of these teams have had a two-week break between matches and return to action in differing form.

Crystal Palace have won their last two games, most recently against West Brom, but Watford are three games without a win - have won just twice in 12 - and conceded four in defeat by Southampton last time out.

Palace could climb to 15th with a win today, just three points behind Watford in 13th on 31 points.
