  1. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Leganes

This experience could not be different to the one in Paris for Barca. In that game they were harried and hassled at every turn. Here they can stroke the ball around at will.

Leganes are conceding 70% of the pitch in the hope they can somehow defend the remaining 30%. I don't fancy their chances.

  2. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Leganes

Lionel Messi stands over a free-kick on the right side of the box. His delivery is poor, though, with the ball swinging harmlessly over the bar.

  3. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Leganes

It is liking trying to keep back the sea with a spatula for Leganes. Barca come forward again and again and all the away side can do is slap the ball temporarily out of play.

Iago Herrerin is quick off his line to slide in and prevent Suarez making it 2-0. It will be 2-0 soon, I assure you.

  4. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Leganes

What do Leganes do now? I suppose they have to keep the 11-man defence going for a bit or this could be over in 20 minutes.

  5. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 1-0 Leganespublished at 4 mins

    Lionel Messi

That didn't take long. Barca carve Leganes open down the left as Luis Suarez is sent darting into space. His cross is converted first time at the back post by Lionel Messi.

Didn't get a touch in the PSG box last Tuesday. He's made his first one count tonight.

  6. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Leganes

Interesting defence from Mantovani, who has nowhere to go but back towards his own goal, which he does at speed before tumbling under a slight nudge and heading the ball out of play. Text book.

  7. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Leganes

Leganes start with 10 men firmly behind the ball, but have a chance to break when Barca lose possession. Szymanowski crosses into the box towards Guerrero but the delivery is cut out and cleared.

Andy White: Barcelona played to the standard of their away kit [against PSG]. Appalling on both counts! Will be better today for sure.

    Barcelona v Leganes (19:45 GMT)

Here come the teams. The Leganes players have already had one big huddle. They know they're going to need something special this evening to come away with anything.

On the plus side, all the pressure is on the home side. They're expected to win handsomely. They also have a major point to prove.

Barca are looking to maintain their pursuit of La Liga leaders Real Madrid, who yesterday won 2-0 thanks to a goal from Gareth Bale on his return from injury.

The Wales forward, on as a second-half substitute, collected Isco's pass before running at the visitors' defence and slotting a shot past Diego Lopez.

Alvaro Morata had headed Real in front in the first half from Isco's cross.

The victory leaves Real three points ahead of second-placed Sevilla, who beat Eibar 2-0, and four clear of Barca.

It is apt that the other game this live text commentary with dabble in involves a certain team from Paris who administered a particular drubbing last Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain host Toulouse this evening, hoping to make up ground on Ligue 1 leaders Monaco, who drew at Bastia on Friday. For some reason, I think they'll be confident of doing so.

Is this gonna get messy for Leganes? Or are Barca going to hit a new low?

    Barcelona v Leganes (19:45 GMT)

I'm not going to try and pick over the bones of Barca's humiliation in Paris. I don't have to, because Spanish football writer Andy West has done it for me. You can read his piece on the defeat and what it might mean for the club and Luis Enrique in particular by clicking here.

One little snippet... under the heading 'What went wrong for Barca?', Andy replies: "everything". Ouch.

It has been a long five days for Barcelona since THAT game in Paris.

They've had to take the criticism and the jibes on the chin, regroup and figure out a way to move forward. Now begins the process of disproving the doubters who believe this is indeed the beginning of the end for the most talented group of players in this, and possibly any, generation.

They start with what should be a gimme, at home to Leganes. They can't possibly lose this one, can they?
