Leeds boss Garry Monk on Sky Sports: "I thought we were second best for the first 60 minutes.

"We had a lot of defending to do, but from that point on we took the front foot and got good goals at good times."

For Birmingham the defeat leaves them 14th in the Championship table, with just two wins from 16 matches under Gianfranco Zola.

The momentum they could have built on from last week's derby victory over Wolves may have now evaporated.

It's not happy times at St Andrew's. They have to start learning to take chances or else risk a sucker punch like tonight.

    FT: Birmingham 1-3 Leeds

Here's Alfonso Pedraza celebrating his first goal for Leeds - and the strike which made the points safe for the visitors.

Victory puts the Whites a point behind third-placed Huddersfield, who have two games in hand.

Perhaps more importantly, Garry Monk's side are now 11 points clear of seventh-placed Fulham.

    A great win for Leeds.

One last chance for Birmingham with a free-kick on the right-hand side...

That was unnecessary. Birmingham midfielder Robert Tesche is in the book for a challenge on Liam Bridcutt. What was the point?

Chris Wood almost has a hat-trick after picking up on a mistake from Ryan Shotton, but keeper Tomasz Kuszczak bats his strike away from goal.

Four minutes added on. By the way both sides are playing this, nobody wants that.

It's not been Che Adams' night tonight after forcing a number of saves from Rob Green, and he comes off for Jerome Sinclair.

The noise around St Andrew's is concentrated to the Leeds end and it's safe to say this game has the feel of one winding down.

Alfonso Pedraza does put in a dangerous low cross from the left, but Chris Wood dummies it to no-one.

And at that Leeds manager Garry Monk wanders out of his seat and out of view.

  15. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Birmingham 1-3 Leeds

Birmingham have brought on Karim Frei in place of Cheick Keita to see if they can make something of this game.

Che Adams almost brings them a goal back with a neat turn and shot, but he can only fire wide.

Leeds fans are in full voice, as you'd expect. Maybe a night out on Broad Street for them tonight?

  16. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Birmingham 1-3 Leeds

Pablo Hernandez may not have been able to score earlier, but he's set up Alfonso Pedraza for a superb first goal in a Leeds shirt.

Hernandez plays the ball through to Pedraza on the left-hand channel and still with a lot to do, the Spaniard on loan from Villareal slams home into the bottom corner with his left foot.

That's Hernandez's last action as he comes off for Kemar Roofe.

Pablo Hernandez has a strike at goal for Leeds, but because he is not Chris Wood he doesn't score.

Instead, he fires straight into the hands of Tomasz Kuszczak after good work from Luke Ayling.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 79 mins

    Birmingham 1-2 Leeds

The first booking of the game goes to Birmingham midfielder David Davis for a rather meaty challenge on Leeds sub Alfonso Pedraza.

I can't believe we haven't had another yellow in this match.
