What a night of football in the Premier League, with ramifications at both the top and bottom ends of the table.

Leaders Chelsea maintain their seven point advantage after beating Manchester City, while Hull moved out of the relegation zone after victory over Middlesbrough.

More from Antonio Conte on Match of the Day: "At this time of the season it's easy to be nervous. There's a lot of pressure. In the last game we lost and we didn't deserve to. 

"Our reaction was very good. Our look was strong. We showed what it is to be a good team. When you face this type of team, it's not easy. I want to thank to the crowd because they pushed us.

"Now with eight games to go, we know Tottenham can win eight so we need to take 18 points to have it mathematically. 

"I think it's right to think we will be pushed to the end. When you see your opponents continue to win, you must win to win the title. That's all we have to do."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte speaking to Match of the Day: "My look is tired because I feel like I played it tonight with my players, I suffered with them. 

"But we must be pleased because we beat a strong tram - the best team in the league. I think they have a great coach - the best in the world. To win this type of game at this time of the season is great.

"Now we need to rest and recover as we have another game in two days' time."

Hull City

Hull boss Marco Silva: "We started very well and strong with good intensity which caused problems for the opponents. The first time they attacked they scored and after we reacted fantastic. 

"We controlled the game, showed good focus in our back line after one bad decision for the second goal, the opponents got back into game, it was not easy for our players. It was easy for them to be distracted, not for the first time it has happened to our team. We need to react. We controlled all of the second half, I don’t remember one shot on our goal.

"When I came things were not good, the atmosphere was not best, many people don’t believe. If you don’t believe, it is impossible. Today was good day but nothing is finished today."

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough manager Steve Agnew:  "I am bitterly disappointed and everyone is. 

"It is not the result we wanted. To score the goal early on, from that goal we got carried away with the emotions of the game. We were poor defensively and everyone takes responsibility for that. 

"It was a big game and we have got to find a balance scoring goals and staying solid at the back. 

"We had more chances and got goals but we are disappointed, as a team the defensive formation let us down."

Asked about his team's survival chances, Agnew said:  "We have to be realistic. We have a huge challenge and the players will never give in. We have eight games left."

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "It's an honour to have the amazing players I have. We come here to Stamford Bridge and play the way we have, with huge personality. I'm a lucky guy to manage these guys.

"It's encouraging for the future. I'm optimistic. It's been like this all season but in the boxes we are not good enough. We created enough to score goals. It's our problem. But my players play in one way and that's why I want to be here - to help Man City for years. 

"The people who are watching us must be proud of our fans. We did everything."

It's been incredible at the top and bottom of the Premier League. 

There was a point in the first half where all the top sides were losing and then later they were all winning and then Liverpool end up with a draw and Spurs score three in a matter of minutes... 

A huge night at both top and bottom of the table.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, talking to BBC Sport: "We started the game well and created chances in the first few minutes. We maybe feel that the game is going to be easy. They started to play in a low tempo. When we conceded we realised we needed to improve our level. 

"It is crazy how the goals came in the last few minutes but we pushed and we created chances to win. Today was a difficult game and the team showed big character. The most important thing is the badge. When you play for Tottenham it is not about the names, it is about the team. This season we are showing that we are a team.

"I don't care what people say or what people think of the history of the club. This season we are fighting again. We are in a good way."

This was a massive three points for Chelsea - a title winning three points.   

They have answered every question that has been thrown at them this season. 

It hasn't been comfortable - there has been tension around the stadium tonight. 

Hassan_Anfield: I have a huge respect for Jurgen Klopp. But I can't understand why he subbed Coutinho so early this days??

dantheman: Even as a Chelsea fan the title race is not over - we still have to visit Everton and United. Spurs will push us till the end.

Tom Luce: Spurs fans getting excited... Chelsea had this title wrapped up ages ago. They won't lose it. 

West Ham United

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic told BBC Sport: "Arsenal deserved to win. The first half was OK, not only because of the score but we were good. We defended well with numbers. And we were also good on counter-attacks. 

"In the second half they raised the tempo and scored a goal, and they were the better team. They were sharper than us tonight. 

"We wanted to keep a clean sheet and the draw as long as possible, or even better to score, and make their fans and players a bit more nervous. But they started to play with more freedom after scoring. 

"Of course we are [in a relegation battle]. We don't have to hide it. It's not being negative, it's being realistic. I told the players to forget today - we have big games ahead of us. It's a massive game against Swansea on Saturday. We are in a fight to keep our Premier League status. We have to start winning games. 

"To get that confidence back is the key point. One win will change everything for us. Because three points at this stage of the season are massive."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told BBC Sport: "West Ham defended well in the first half and we needed to find a solution in the second half. We were convincing after the break. 

"Ozil and Sanchez are important players but everyone did well. You could not say any player had a bad performance. 

"We come out of a difficult period and our confidence goes quickly and comes back slowly. 

"We are in the final sprint in the Premier League. Consistency will be very important. 

"We have a little handicap on the points front. We have less possibilities to drop points."

Swansea thought they were staying out of the bottom three, but instead find themselves behind Hull, who beat an increasingly sunken Middlesbrough.

Palace dropped a point, but remain three ahead of the beaten Swans, while the biggest sigh of relief might be from West Ham.

They looked to be slipping towards the bottom three to the tune of only three points, but the gap remains at five.

Bournemouth did themselves a favour too. Their cushion is seven.

Chelsea could have been 10 points clear and Liverpool could have been level with Spurs.

Instead, the Chelsea lead remains at seven and Liverpool are five points behind Tottenham.

A five-point swing in the space of about 20 minutes. Ouch.

Were you keeping up with all of that? The last half hour or so have had huge ramifications at both ends of the table.

It all started when Southampton got their second against Crystal Palace. Then Spurs mugged Swansea, then Bournemouth denied Liverpool.
