Marco Silva has been a breath of fresh air for Hull.

It was very clever of him to only sign a six month contract at this club because where they were in the Premier League, not may people would have given him much hope. Now, I think Hull will survive - I think they will beat Middlesbrough tonight and go on to overtake Palace.

"A Crystal Palace fan cut my hair last week and when I suggested Sam Allardyce would steer them to safety he warned me to take a look at their daunting fixture list.

"Palace still have to play Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs. So the barber's point, with no disrespect aimed at Southampton, was that three points is a must on the south coast.

"However, that was before the Eagles' stunning win at Chelsea. The low-scoring Saints will want to avoid going the same way as the champions-elect and need a performance in front of their home fans.

"If Palace win, my barber will be singing while he's trimming next time around."

So, what do you make of it all?

Chelsea were cruising to the Premier League trophy until their shock loss at home to Crystal Palace at the weekend, with some declaring the the title race back ON.

After this round of fixtures, we are into the final furlong, so will Chelsea win the title at a canter or can Tottenham pip them to the post by a short head?

Defeat for Antonio Conte's side against Pep Guardiola's men today, coupled with a win for Mauricio Pochettino's troops and the lead is down to four points.

Will the Premier League title be won or lost tonight?

And it's also a rather large night at the bottom of the table.

In East Yorkshire, 18th-placed Hull entertain 19th-placed Middlesbrough, with a home win probably leaving the visitors needing snookers.

Above them, everyone from 13th downwards plays tonight, well aware that the trapdoor looms.

  19. Postpublished at 18:35 British Summer Time 5 April 2017

Which brings us to tonight and a potentially decisive evening in this Premier League title race.

If Chelsea, fresh off a shock defeat by Crystal Palace, slip up again at home to Manchester City, then Spurs could be four points behind and breathing down their necks.

If things go the other way and Chelsea restore that 10-point cushion, it's all over bar the blue ribbons, no?

  20. Postpublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 5 April 2017

...so could Tottenham cut Chelsea's lead from 10 points to four in the space of of five days?

It's the hope that kills you.
