Barcelona's La Liga title hopes are hit as they follow their win over Paris St-Germain with a defeat at Deportivo La Coruna.

Dave Wood: Barca going from the sublime to the ridiculous. 

What an extraordinary finish to the game. What an extraordinary result for Deportivo. What a setback for Barcelona.

It doesn't matter! We have the big shock of this La Liga weekend, and the title race takes another twist.

German Lux pushes clear... and now Deportivo break. Faycal Fajr races away. Can he seal victory? No! First shot blocked by the keeper! Again no! Second shot is cleared off the line by Jordi Alba. Could have been 3-1...

Three minutes of time added. Barcelona corner. Ivan Rakitic swings it over. Celso Borges gets to it, heads behind. Another corner...

Oh, it's well over, and well wide. Perhaps it is not to be Messi's day after all. This has not been one of his good games.

But then Faycal Fajr clatters through the back of Luis Suarez. It's a free-kick, 25 yards out, dead central. Step forward Lionel Messi...

Ivan Rakitic down the right for Barcelona, drills in a cross for Barcelona. Fernando Navarro, arms behind his back to avoid the handball appeals, gets his chest in the way and concedes a corner. Rakitic takes, Alejandro Arribas heads clear.

Deportivo boss Pepe Mel raises his arms to the air, urging the home support to cheer his team over the line.

Joselu, feeding off that extra noise, races forward on the break, the scent of glory in his nostrils, but he cannot keep control as he reaches the penalty area, and the ball runs away.

That's Juanfran's last contribution. He is replaced by Laure as Deportivo try to see this through.

It's like a basketball game now. Barcelona attack, then Deportivo attack. Emre Colak, on the break for the home side, lashes a diagonal ball for Joselu to chase, but the striker is almost out on his feet. Yet he keeps the move alive, and then Juanfran joins the fun, driving in a shot that rolls straight through to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Andres Iniesta, through the centre for Barcelona, plays it right to Lionel Messi. There's a crowd in front of the Argentine, but Messi still drills his shot on target. Keeper Lux is behind it, and gathers. We're set for a terrific finish here. 

And yet, there is always the feeling that Barcelona will get two or three more chances. Luis Suarez darts into the centre to get on the end of Sergi Roberto's cross, but German Lux is in the right place and blocks the first-time shot.

Not for the first time this week, Barcelona approach the final 10 minutes chasing a game. Deportivo see off a corner comfortably enough, though, forcing the visitors to go all the way back to goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Luis Enrique makes his third and final change. Paco Alcacer, who has had no one's idea of a prolific season, is on for Denis Suarez.

Juanfran, attacking down the right for Deportivo, wins a corner. Feycal Fajr takes it, Alejandro Arribas climbs high and bounces a header goalwards - and Marc-Andre ter Stegen has to stretch to tip it round the post. Another corner...

Deportivo substitute Emre Colak, out on the right, sees an opportunity to drift inside on to his left foot. He must be 25 yards out when he hits the shot, and as it sails over the bar, it seems as if the entire home support groans as one.
