I'm sure for his first game back Jack Butland would have preferred a better defensive performance in front of him.

But you know goalkeepers, they like hard work and they like to be busy, and Butland has certainly been the busier of the two keepers.

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke

Jack Butland has looked a little nervy so far in his first game since March 2016.

Jordan Ayew closes him down in the penalty box and the goalkeeper is forced to skew his clearance out for a throw in.

  3. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke

Stoke haven't scored away from home since they beat Sunderland on 14 January.

Mark Hughes has gone for the classic little and large up front today with Peter Crouch and Saido Berahino.

A few long balls have been hit in Crouch's direction so far but have come to nothing.

If you didn't believe me that Swansea have had the better of the opening stages, here is Stoke's touch map in their opponent's half.

Not one touch in the penalty area.

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke

The home side are forced into an early change.

Leroy Fer was involved in that earlier foul on Jack Butland and that collision has ended the midfielder's involvement today.

The Dutchman is replaced by Ki Sung-yueng.

Xherdan Shaqiri - the scorer of a spectacular long-range goal against Hull last week - is given the chance to run at the Swansea defence.

He looks dangerous but his chipped throughball goes all the way through to Fabianski.

Joe Allen looks to dart into the box against his former club a couple of minutes later but Swansea deal with it well.

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke

As Terry says, Swansea really do deserve the lead.

They have been by far the better of the two teams. Don't forget a win could move them out of the relegation zone today.

Sigurdsson crosses another set piece into the box and Jack Butland looks a little unsure but a foul is given on the goalkeeper.

Once again, Gylfi Sigurdsson provides the assist from a dead-ball situation. Fernando Llorente rose on his own, headed it towards the back post where no-one was defending, and Jack Butland had no chance.

It's just what Swansea wanted and they are well worth the lead - they have been well up for this and have harassed Stoke for the ball. Good performance, good goal.

Llorente may not sprint, but if the ball is played in onto his head he doesn't have to!

A massive goal for a massive game, sparking massive celebrations.

There was already a fervent atmosphere inside Liberty Stadium, and Fernando Llorente's 12th goal of the season has lifted the volume to deafening levels.

    Sigurdsson cross, Llorente goal.

Those of you who have followed Swansea this season won't be surprised by that.

The Icelandic midfielder swings a corner from the right into the box where Llorente is unmarked and is able to head down into the net.

That's the Spaniard's 12th goal of the season and Sigurdsson's seventh assist from set pieces, the most in the league.

Stoke come forward for the first time and surprisingly look for the head of Peter Crouch.

The ball is plucked out of the air though by Swans keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

    Swansea City 0-0 Stoke City

Leon Britton - making his first start in 2017 - is dropping deep in midfield, looking to collect the ball off the Swansea centre-backs.

The home side have had almost all of the ball so far.

When Stoke do get a touch Erik Pieters gives the ball away horribly in his own left-back position but Swansea can't capitalise.

    Swansea City 0-0 Stoke City

    Positive start from Swansea.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has one shot at goal blocked and moments later is given far too much in the area but can't hook his strike on target.

Swansea are six games without a win but they've started well here.

Leon Britton has been brought back into the Swansea side to bring some composure and control to the centre of the pitch. A few players have been hiding for Swansea this season.

It's been a rollercoaster campaign at the Liberty Stadium - Paul Clement's side won four out of his first five after he came in. But recent defeats and a slump in form have really knocked the stuffing out of them.

    And we're under way.

Swansea all in white, Stoke all in a not too dissimilar light blue. The bright sunshine at the Liberty Stadium isn't helping.

If I tell you Peter Crouch has headed in for Swansea, that's why.

The announcer at the Liberty Stadium is doing an excellent job of getting the crowd going.

A huge roar greets the players as they stride out of the tunnel.

The locals are going to have to play their part today.

Joe Allen is fit and playing today for Stoke. Swansea fans will be praying the old curse doesn't strike, former players scoring against sides for their new clubs!

Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson are both on the pitch - those two players can keep Swansea in the Premier League.

  19. Bony misses out - againpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

Swansea City v Stoke City (15:00 BST)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

Wilfried Bony has been warming up with his Stoke team-mates but won’t be playing any part today because the former Swansea striker has not been included in the Potters’ squad.

Swans fans will be relieved – because the Ivorian has fared rather well when he has faced his old club in the past.

Bony’s only two goals for Stoke this season came against Swansea, way back in October when Mark Hughes’ men beat a Swans side then managed by Bob Bradley.

Bony’s last but one goal for parent club Manchester City was also against Swansea but, fortunately for the home fans at the Liberty Stadium, he will only be a spectator today.

Saido Berahino is yet to score for Stoke since his January move from West Brom but Mark Hughes reckons it’s “only a matter of time” until he does.

"I think everybody can see he's getting stronger,” Hughes said.

"He needs a goal, that's what all strikers need to settle into a club. He's been close in recent weeks and it's only a matter of time.

"He will probably be disappointed when the season ends because he's just starting to get going.”
