Despite that late blow, one highlight of the first half for Dundee is the impressive performance of Cammy Kerr at right-back.

It is a position that is proving troublesome for Scotland head coach Gordon Strachan, who hasn't named a specialist in that position for the forthcoming friendly against Canada and World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

With West Brom midfield duo Matt Phillips and James Morrison poised to withdraw from the squad through injury, could it be an opportunity for a surprise call-up for the Dens 21-year-old?

Or will it give Strachan the chance to placate his critics in Aberdeen, who have complained about the lack of recognition for Kenny McLean, Graeme Shinnie and Ryan Jack?

Celtic have dominated the game up until the penalty box and Dundee have kept their four main men up front quiet, but they still find themselves behind at half-time. Paul Hartley will be absolutely gutted in the dressing-room

The tempo has been decent enough from Celtic, but you have to give credit to Dundee for a resolute performance. They have crowded that midfield and restricted Celtic's chances, but it is a real body blow just before half-time

Dundee's plan to frustrate Celtic is working so far. The wide men of Forrest and Sinclair have had no joy at all and the central midfielders are trying everything to unlock a very organised Dark Blue defence. Paul Hartley shouting reminders from the touch line - concentrate, concentrate.
