"How much do you want for Paul Pogba? Take it all"

Spending the most money on players does not guarantee Premier League success, says Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Italian cited both Manchester clubs after United spent a world-record £89m on midfielder Paul Pogba and Man City spent £47.5m on defender John Stones.

Leaders Chelsea have an 11-point lead over City and 12 points over United with six games remaining.

"It's important to understand it's not always who spends more wins," he said.

"This season isn't the only season both Manchester clubs have spent a lot of money. Look at the past."

  3. 'If Chelsea win emphatically, they'll land the title'published at 19:29 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

    Jonathan Pearce
    BBC Sport

This is huge. If Chelsea follow up their FA Cup semi-final win with an emphatic victory they'll hold their nerve and land the title.

But this is a slippery one. They've found Southampton troublesome at home and the Saints have had 10 days to prepare.

A defeat for the league leaders will open the door for Spurs.

Chelsea were far too open in the thrilling semi-final. They also haven't gone this long without a league clean sheet in nearly 21 years.

Southampton may not have beaten a current top-six side all season but they've looked dangerous away recently. Tricky this for the leaders!

  5. Terry starts his farewellpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

Polite applause for John Terry as he comes out to warm up. Chelsea's captain, who has made 713 appearances for the club, is leaving at the end of this season and there are only three games left at Stamford Bridge after this one before he makes his farewell.

Southampton looking remarkably relaxed in their warm-up. Sounds of laughter booming into the stands from their players.

  6. Can Adams turn it round at Granada?published at 19:18 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

    Spoiler alert: No, he can't

It is game number three of Tony Adams' La Liga managerial career tonight. His Granada side are at home to Malaga.

They are seven points adrift of safety with five games to go so it would be a good time to pick up his first win.

They have not won in eight matches, and have lost Adams' two opening matches - 3-0 and 2-0.

That kicks off at 19:30 BST.

  10. Can Chelsea take their chance?published at 19:06 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

When Chelsea lost their last Premier League game at Manchester United - which saw the lead at the top reduced to just four points from Spurs - there were suggestions that the nerves were starting to show on Antonio Conte's side.

The FA Cup semi-final win over Spurs at Wembley on Saturday answered those questions and provided a strong statement of intent.

And Chelsea can now turn the tables and put Spurs under pressure with victory over Southampton at Stamford Bridge tonight. It would give them a seven-point advantage ahead of Spurs' tough visit to in-form Crystal Palace tomorrow night.

Brayo: Apparently, the name Stamford Bridge is too fine. I would rename Cobham training ground Didier Drogba

Mitch: I think the most deserved name for a stadium based on current performance has to be Oxlade Arena. He's been our top player.

  16. Season over for Southampton?published at 18:50 British Summer Time 25 April 2017

Chelsea's opponents today, Southampton, are the epitome of nothing to play for.

The Saints are ninth, 17 points below the Europa League places. They are only nine points above the bottom three, but with an eight-team buffer between them and the relegation zone (and some games in hand), I don't think they'll be worried.

    Alan Shearer

The way Chelsea beat Tottenham in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final showed why they are going to win the Premier League title too.

The Blues scored four goals against the team with the best defensive record in the top flight, so you cannot say they did not deserve their victory.

And anyone who doubted Chelsea after their defeats by Manchester United and Crystal Palace just had to watch them at Wembley to see how good they are.

This was a superb display that won a brilliant cup tie and, psychologically, could and probably should pull them across the line in the title race too.

They know they beat their closest rivals despite not having three key players for the majority of the game - centre-back Gary Cahill, who was out injured, and winger Eden Hazard and striker Diego Costa, who came off the bench with less than half an hour to play.

    Read Shearer's piece here.

In fact Chelsea are getting so concerned about the charge of Spurs, who have won their last seven Premier League matches, that on Saturday, they left their two key attacking players on the bench for an FA Cup semi-final.

So they can focus on a league game against Southampton. That's how worried they are.

Admittedly both Eden Hazard and Diego Costa came on in the Wembley semi-final against their title rivals Spurs, and Chelsea won, but they played less than half an hour each.
