Simon Atkins: So much for the optimism! We can still get back into this, been playing well, just need that one good chance!

Gabby Agbonlahor hadn't scored in 14 months, since scoring in one of Villa's rare Premier League wins last season against Norwich.

Prior to that, he hadn't netted in 11 months.

But he does know how to score in derby games, having done so too often in the past for Blues fans' comfort.

He scored the first of his five derby goals in Steve Bruce's final game in charge of Blues in November 2007. And Bruce brought him back from the cold to come off the bench when the two sides drew 1-1 at St Andrew's in October.

Now Bruce has turned to him again... and he has provided!

The 30-year-old hadn't scored for more than 14 months.

As Villa celebrate, Harry Redknapp turns away - his side have 20 minutes to claw their way back into this local derby.
