This week I have had several people suggest to me that this is a meaningless end-of-season fixture. I would disagree vehemently. Both Bournemouth and Stoke are chasing a top-10 finish.

Mark Hughes will be desperate to halt Stoke's poor run as they try to record a fourth successive top-half position.

As for Bournemouth, it must be remembered that it was only eight years ago that they overcame a 17-point penalty to avoid relegation from the Football League.

After last week's victory at Sunderland they are almost mathematically assured of a third season in the Premier League - a magnificent achievement.

Bournemouth make two changes to the side that started in the 1-0 win at Sunderland.

Striker Lys Mousset makes his first Premier League start - replacing the injured Benik Afobe. And Junior Stanislas starts in midfield in place of Ryan Fraser, who is on the bench.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes recalls forward Mame Diouf to the starting XI.

The Senegal player replaces striker Saido Berahino, who is a substitute.

That is the only change from the side that started in the draw against West Ham last week.

Will it be a "good game, good game" for Eddie?

Cherries boss Eddie Howe appears to be a cautious soul.

He said: "The most important objective is to stay in the Premier League - we have to do that first then finish as high as possible.

"I just want to focus on this game, if we do win we'll be safe and look to an exciting end to the season."

You are safe Eddie. Look at the table.

It says you are NINE points clear of Swansea in 18th and both of you have three games remaining. But... but.. your goal difference is +16 better.

    He's probably just being polite.

As for Stoke. They have 40 points and have won only one of their previous eight league games. Got the flip-flops on... etc etc

A point for each team will surely be enough to ensure their PL safety.
