You think some of the great football-ground tunnels - the Bernabeu, Anfield, erm, somewhere else. And then you see the KCOM Stadium's. It looks like a corridor in an out-of-town warehouse.

That's where the players are congregated, shoulder to shoulder, before they walk out to a rapturous reception from the excited - and probably nervy - home fans.

It's great when a manager comes in and takes the weight off, and puts it on his own shoulders. It frees the players a little bit, and it's so much easier to perform in that situation. That's just what Marco Silva has done at Hull.

David Moyes came in and immediately announced Sunderland were in a relegation battle right from the start. That put pressure on his players and forced them into a basement battle. To be honest, it was probably too soon in the season to be saying that if you're the manager. 

Sunderland manager David Moyes on his future: "I've got a four-year contract and I'll be Sunderland manager next season.

"I know what needs to be done to get back in the Premier League and I know what the requirements are to do that.

"I met with Martin (Bain) and Ellis (Short) this week and we had initial discussions about how we move forward. We will meet again in a few weeks."

And talking of managerial futures, David Moyes insists he is going nowhere this summer...

Hull City head coach Marco Silva on reports linking him with other Premier League clubs: "For me nothing has changed. It is normal that speculation will start now but we will never lose our focus and we have one goal in mind.

"I see my future today and tomorrow to prepare the team and I am focused on playing well and winning next Saturday. This is what is important - not what happens in two months.

"I prepare one day then the next day and the next game, and this is my way."

If I listen to David Moyes I don’t know if I believe him. It always sounds like bad news with David and that is not what Sunderland fans need. They need a ray of light. They need energy and I feel like David’s light is fading a bit.

However, if he could perform something close to Rafael Benitez did at Newcastle this year I think people will say David Moyes is back.

Hull this week, Swansea next. Sunderland might be down already but they could play a big part in who goes with them.

After the furore surrounding Championship play-off hopefuls Huddersfield's team selection last week, David Moyes' plans for the remaining games will be interesting.

Wouldn't Sunderland's best interests be served by a line-up of those players most likely to still be at the club next season? Moyes says he will be, external.

Hull must simply do what they've done in six of the seven Premier League home games under Marco Silva. They must win. They MUST win - before watching Swansea versus Everton, cheering the Toffees.

If they get the points to keep them in the top flight, keeping Silva would then be the challenge.

Unsurprisingly, Hull manager Marco Silva is keen to keep a settled side as the Tigers bid to avoid relegation.

The Portuguese boss is helped by no new injury worries, which means he makes just one change to the side which drew at Southampton last week.

Striker Abel Hernandez comes in for Evandro, who drops to the bench.

With Sunderland already relegated, David Moyes might be training one eye on the future by handing a start to young midfielder George Honeyman.

The 22-year-old replaces Steven Pienaar in one of three changes, with right-back Billy Jones and Jason Denayer also being recalled.

Hull have a huge advantage kicking off at three o'clock. They have to win before Swansea start their game at 17:30 BST. 

If you go first and get all those three points, you hold all the cards. I would fear for Swansea then, because despite the initial bounce following the appointment of Paul Clement it's fizzled out.

Just when I thought they were out...they pull me back in!

Sam Allardyce and Crystal Palace looked all but safe a week or two ago but they were hammered 5-0 at Manchester City this lunchtime.

Wins for Hull and Swansea this afternoon would leave the Eagles precariously placed.
