The Crystal Palace players seem much calmer after their half-time cup of tea.

It threatened to get ugly before the break following the Southampton equaliser.

It was certainly a first half with plenty of talking points.

Wilfried Zaha has to be restrained by his own players after the half-time whistle is blown. He's furious.

It all stemmed from what he thought was a foul by Steven Davis on the touchline before the move that led to Southampton's equaliser.

Goodness me, Southampton claim they should have another penalty.

Shane Long looks like he has the legs on Luka Milivojevic and falls to the ground as the pair tangle legs.

The midfielder tries to take it past Jeffrey Schlupp and the ball appears to strike the former Leicester defender's arm in the box.

It wasn't clear cut, but I've certainly seen them given.

Crystal Palace are oozing confidence now.

Christian Benteke nods a cross back towards Wilfried Zaha, but he can't control his volley and skies over.

The bounce did him to be fair.

The atmosphere has gone flat at St Mary's after that Christian Benteke opener for Palace.

A 3-0 win for Sam Allardyce's side would move them above Saints in the table.

That's as good a team goal as you will ever see - and it's finished off by Christian Benteke.

It all starts on the left with Jeffrey Schlupp, Wilfried Zaha sucks in Saints' defenders, the ball works its way across to Andros Townsend on the right-hand side of the area and the winger finds Benteke to fire in from a couple of yards.

It's the Belgian's 11th Premier League goal of the season.

It's another chance for Crystal Palace - this time for Wilfried Zaha.

Christian Benteke nods it down into the path of the winger in the centre of the box, but his fierce strike is brilliantly blocked by Oriol Romeu.

Perhaps a bit more composure needed from Zaha, but Romeu threw everything at it.

That's brilliant from Christian Benteke.

The big Belgian nutmegs Saints defender Jack Stephens and fires towards goal but his shot is blocked.

The trickery was George Best-esque, I kid you not.

That's a super save from Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

Nathan Redmond, not known for his heading ability, connects with Cedric Soares' cross from the right but Hennessey dives full stretch and tips it around the post.

The game has finally settled down after a frantic opening.

Southampton look good on the ball, but the lack of cutting edge from the Bournemouth draw has continued so far.

Plenty of time for things to change.

Luka Milivojevic comes so close to putting Palace ahead.

The Serbia midfielder curls a low free-kick from 25 yards around the wall but it strikes the outside of the post.

Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster was rooted to the spot.

And now Southampton have another chance. Shane Long latches onto a long ball but slices it wide from a tight angle.

It was much more difficult than his one in the opening 40 seconds.
