    Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

The Crystal Palace players seem much calmer after their half-time cup of tea.

It threatened to get ugly before the break following the Southampton equaliser.

I'm sure it's not the last we'll hear about that one.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Southampton get us back under way at St Mary's.

Crystal Palace have made a substitution at half-time - Bakary Sako is on for Yohan Cabaye.

    It's turning into some night.

  4. First-half recappublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 5 April 2017

    HT: Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

It was certainly a first half with plenty of talking points.

Christian Benteke's close-range strike following a superb team move put Crystal Palace ahead.

Southampton then had two penalty appeals waved away in the final few minutes of the half, before Nathan Redmond slotted in an equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 5 April 2017

    Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha has to be restrained by his own players after the half-time whistle is blown. He's furious.

It all stemmed from what he thought was a foul by Steven Davis on the touchline before the move that led to Southampton's equaliser.

  6. Redmond brings Saints levelpublished at 45 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Hmm, there's a bit of controversy about this goal!

Wilfried Zaha appears to be barged over by Steven Davis the touchline, but Southampton play on - Davis sends the ball into the box and Nathan Redmond slots in from 12 yards.

It almost happened in slow motion.

  8. Another penalty appealpublished at 42 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Crystal Palace

Goodness me, Southampton claim they should have another penalty.

Shane Long looks like he has the legs on Luka Milivojevic and falls to the ground as the pair tangle legs.

Again, Roger East waves away the protests, but it's another one that could have been given.

  9. Penalty appealpublished at 40 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Crystal Palace

Dusan Tadic is livid - he thinks Southampton should have a penalty.

The midfielder tries to take it past Jeffrey Schlupp and the ball appears to strike the former Leicester defender's arm in the box.

It wasn't clear cut, but I've certainly seen them given.

  10. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are oozing confidence now.

Christian Benteke nods a cross back towards Wilfried Zaha, but he can't control his volley and skies over.

The bounce did him to be fair.

  11. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Crystal Palace

The atmosphere has gone flat at St Mary's after that Christian Benteke opener for Palace.

A 3-0 win for Sam Allardyce's side would move them above Saints in the table.

  12. Benteke gives Palace the leadpublished at 31 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Crystal Palace

That's as good a team goal as you will ever see - and it's finished off by Christian Benteke.

It all starts on the left with Jeffrey Schlupp, Wilfried Zaha sucks in Saints' defenders, the ball works its way across to Andros Townsend on the right-hand side of the area and the winger finds Benteke to fire in from a couple of yards.

It's the Belgian's 11th Premier League goal of the season.

  14. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

It's another chance for Crystal Palace - this time for Wilfried Zaha.

Christian Benteke nods it down into the path of the winger in the centre of the box, but his fierce strike is brilliantly blocked by Oriol Romeu.

Perhaps a bit more composure needed from Zaha, but Romeu threw everything at it.

  15. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

    That's brilliant from Christian Benteke.

The big Belgian nutmegs Saints defender Jack Stephens and fires towards goal but his shot is blocked.

The trickery was George Best-esque, I kid you not.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 21 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

That's a super save from Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

Nathan Redmond, not known for his heading ability, connects with Cedric Soares' cross from the right but Hennessey dives full stretch and tips it around the post.

  17. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

The game has finally settled down after a frantic opening.

Southampton look good on the ball, but the lack of cutting edge from the Bournemouth draw has continued so far.

Plenty of time for things to change.

  18. HITS THE POSTpublished at 13 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Luka Milivojevic comes so close to putting Palace ahead.

The Serbia midfielder curls a low free-kick from 25 yards around the wall but it strikes the outside of the post.

Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster was rooted to the spot.

  19. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

And now Southampton have another chance. Shane Long latches onto a long ball but slices it wide from a tight angle.

It was much more difficult than his one in the opening 40 seconds.

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Christian Benteke has to do better there. The Belgian gets his head on Yohan Cabaye's corner but can't connect properly and it spins wide.

He was pretty much unmarked. Palace's first chance.
