It’s a crisp spring evening at the Liberty Stadium for a match which could have huge ramifications for the top and bottom of the Premier League table.

The visitors, Tottenham, are aiming to further reduce Chelsea’s lead at the summit, having cut it to seven points with victory at Burnley on Saturday.

Spurs will have an eye on Chelsea’s match against Manchester City, and Swansea might also be preoccupied with events at Hull-Middlesbrough.

The Swans are just one point and one place above the Premier League relegation zone, and they could drop into the bottom three if fellow strugglers Hull beat Boro.

Having cut the gap to Chelsea at the top to seven points, Spurs simply must win this one and hope for a favour from Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

It may not be that simple though. For all that they have impressed so thoroughly this season, their win at Turf Moor on Saturday was only their fifth away league win - the same number as Crystal Palace and half as many as enjoyed by Chelsea and Manchester City.

Swansea boss Paul Clement has seen his side take just one point from their last three games, and has spoken of the tension at the Liberty Stadium during Sunday's draw with Middlesbrough. No wonder, sitting just a point above resurgent Hull is not a comfortable place to be.

    Swansea v Tottenham (19:45 BST)

Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is still out with an ankle injury so Jordan Ayew continues in attack. Wayne Routledge returns on the right side of the front three in place of Luciano Narsingh. Other than that it is the same side that drew with Middlesbrough.

Swansea: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson, Fer, Cork, Carroll, Routledge, Ayew, Sigurdsson.

Hugo Lloris is ill and not in the Tottenham squad so Michel Vorm starts in goal against his former club. The injured Harry Winks is out for the season, so Moussa Sissoko takes his place in midfield. Son Heung-min replaces Vincent Jansson up front while Kyle Walker returns at right-back, with Kieran Trippier dropping to the bench. Victor Wanyama is injured so Mousa Dembele starts in midfield.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vorm, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen, Son.

Swansea have other ideas about how tonight will go.

They are in the thick of a relegation fight and Palace's win at Stamford Bridge last weekend has turned the heat up.

With 18th-placed Hull facing 19th-placed Middlesbrough tonight, the Swans will be fighting tooth and nail to ensure they don't end tonight in the bottom three.

Thanks to Crystal Palace the door to the title race is ever so slightly ajar again. Question is, do Tottenham have enough about them to shove a shoulder against it and force their way in?

A Manchester City win tonight won't hurt. First and foremost, though, Spurs have to beat Swansea.
