Real's next game is the small matter of a Champions League semi-final. If that's not big enough it's against neighbours Atletico Madrid.

More than 2,000 security officers will be on duty for the first leg at the Bernabeu on Tuesday. The tie has been classified as "high risk" and security will be "reinforced", the Madrid city government said.

Uefa ordered security at European games to be increased after the attack on the Borussia Dortmund team bus on 11 April. Atletico will have 4,000 supporters at Real's 80,000-capacity ground.

Make no mistake, this is a massive win for Real. Marcelo's late winner puts Zinedine Zidane's side in the driving seat for the La Liga title.

Real have done it. They go three points clear at the top of La Liga - if only for a few hours. The pressure is back on Barcelona.

Marcelo's goal appears to have saved Cristiano Ronaldo from unwanted headlines for missing a crucial penalty at 1-0.

Hands up who had Marcelo for the winner? It's a rare goal for the Brazilian defender as he fires home from just inside the penalty box after Morata gets the ball into area. That's knocked the stuffing out Valencia.

Real have chance after chance after chance and they are punished for wasting them as Daniel Parejo beats Keylor Navas will a sublime free-kick after curling it over the wall. It's a beauty.

First change for Real. That poor set-piece was James Rodriguez's last action. He's replaced by Marco Asensio.

It's another yellow card - the easiest decision the referee has had to make all game. James Rodriguez's set-piece is disappointing to say the least.
