You are just thinking, with Sergio Aguero on the bench, would some of these balls into the box have been converted. Man City are getting to the 18-yard line but are struggling to make anything happen in the box. They create space but they just can't finish it off.

Shot from Kevin De Bruyne 25 yards out is travelling at some speed when it hits Yohan Benalouane and fizzes wide. David Silva has had so much possession but he has been unable to conjure up anything special.

Brilliant pass from Kasper Schmeichel. It is the telepathy between the keeper and Vardy. Vardy knew as soon as Schmeichel got hold of that ball what he was going to do with it.

I'm not sure we'll see a better pass all game. Manchester City's players are strolling back into position when Kasper Schmeichel's huge kick sends Jamie Vardy clear before a sky blue shirt makes a last-ditch challenge. Terrific vision by Schmeichel.

Terrible defending from Leicester at a corner invites more Manchester City pressure and Leroy Sane screws a great chance from inside the area wide. He should have done better with that.

Manchester City have had 70% possession in the opening quarter of an hour but have yet to test Kasper Schmeichel. At the other end, Leicester have had two shots on target. Both teams have been guilty of bad misses.

A draw will be enough to take Manchester City above Liverpool into third. They are trying to build from the back but have filed to make the electric start they did against Crystal Palace last week. Groans from the home fans as Nicolas Otamendi sloppily concedes possession in his own half.

We are just waiting for that little bit of quality. Both teams could have scored from a set-piece but there are a lot of over-hit passes at the moment.

A very open start. Craig Shakespeare will be scratching his head as to why the Foxes are not ahead as their first corner falls to Wilfred Ndidi but his header is terrible. That was as bad as Fernandinho's miss at the other end. This is not going to end goalless.

The Manchester City full-backs push up a lot. There is plenty of room either side of the centre-backs for Jamie Vardy to run in to.

Jamie Vardy's already proving a real pest. His pace is causing the home defence problems. He's has a tame shot which fails to trouble Willy Caballero.

Cracking start by Manchester City. Fernandinho, who is playing at full-back, has a free header six yards out from a corner but can't direct it on target. Leicester are still getting to grips with the surroundings.

Does Pep Guardiola not fancy Sergio Aguero? Is he on his way? When you score over 30 goals and the best next to him has 11, it looks a bizarre decision to have him on the bench.

The changes Manchester City have made, Pep Guardiola doesn't know his best formation. He's less pragmatic in his management style and he's more artistic. They are starting to purr now. I think they will be big challengers next year. 

Kasper Schmeichel is back on familiar turf. The Leicester keeper exchanges a quick smile with Vincent Kompany before both captains emerge from the tunnel.

I would pay money to go and watch Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, as I would Christian Eriksen at Tottenham and Santi Cazorla at Arsenal - but I would do the same for Manchester City's David Silva above everyone.

I would watch Silva every week if I could. He has been my favourite player in British football from the past 10 years, without a doubt.

Although Silva is adored by City fans, I think he is under-rated by many people. Players are measured in goals and assists but he runs games, and so often the assists to the assist are his.

Somebody else might directly make the goal but, two passes back, it is Silva that has pulled the defence completely apart and dragged players out of position.

Only six of the Leicester side that started their 4-2 win over Manchester City in December begin this game but, perhaps crucially for both sides, Jamie Vardy is one of them.

Vardy helped himself to a hat-trick that day as the Foxes thrashed a confused-looking City team that started with three at the back but quickly changed to a four after conceding twice in the first five minutes.

Five months on, Guardiola spoke again about Vardy’s pace and Leicester’s threat from the counter-attack straight after his side’s 5-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, so he is definitely aware of it now - the question is, can his team cope this time?
