  2. 'In the summer we will assess things'published at 19:56 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

Stoke boss Mark Hughes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "First half we didn't get as close as we wanted. I didn't think Arsenal created anything of real note. We tried to break off changes in play but it didn't really work. Conceding a second was a blow so we needed to change. As soon as we changed our game plan it worked and it felt like Arsenal were rocking. We had to chase to the game and we've been picked off going the opposite way. It's a disappointment. Five minutes isn't enough. We needed to ask more questions.

"We're disappointed as it's always our aim [to finish in the top half of the table]. This is the first time we've missed out. We go against Southampton next week to get points on the board. In the summer we will assess things and maybe change things around."

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We've just got to keep winnng and hope Liverpool drop points.

"I didn't play much in the middle of the season but was what I expected coming to this club.

"I just kept working hard and managed to get a place in the team.

"They put a lot of pressure on us with the corners but we gritted our teeth and got them on the counter-attack.

"I was supposed to be blocking the cross so I didn't see if the ball went in off Peter Crouch's hand.

"It's been a voodoo ground for the lads in the last few years so it's good to come here and silence their fans with a win."

  5. 'We stood up'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding, speaking to Sky Sports: "Their fans got a bit louder after that goal, they had seven straight corners at one point but we stood up and got some goals on the counter attack.

"I didn't see Peter Crouch's goal go in but saw some people waving their hands about. It went in but we won so it doesn't matter now.

"I've enjoyed getting on the ball more and playing in a three with a bit more safety.

"I had my West Ham scarf on when they played Tottenham so I'm sure I'll have it on tomorrow."

  7. Wenger talks 'hand-goals'published at 19:39 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, talking to BBC Match of the Day: "We had a difficult week but we've won convincingly so the focus is there, the fighting spirit is there and we're pleased to win.

"I believe when the team plays well we have the right individual talent to win.

"When they scored the 'hand-goal' they came back but when you go to places like Stoke yoy need at some stage to suffer and stick together and that's what we did.

"When we went 3-1 up that was game over.

"The physios told me Alexis Sanchez wanted to come off, I don't know what it was, but he's a fighter and found the resources to score an excellent goal after.

"We just have to win our games."

That was Stoke's last home game of the season, so the players are doing a lap of appreciation to the fans - complete with kids. Cute.

Marko Arnautovic has to do the lap with his arm in a sling, after that clash with Rob Holding.

Stoke remain 13th in the table after today's defeat. They could yet finish 11th next weekend, if they win away at Southampton.

  9. 'West Ham have all my support against Liverpool'published at 19:32 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were efficient up front and defensively were compact and defended well from the front.

"It's a great win and we've got two more finals to come.

"The most difficult thing against a team like Stoke is scoring the first goal and after that we had to be efficient.

"West Ham have all my support against Liverpool. We have to do the job first and see what happens, we'll keep fighting until the end."

Emmanuel: If Arsenal have been playing 3 at the back from beginning of the season I imagine where they will be on the league table now.

Liam O'Connor: YES! @Arsenal. We are going to be the 4th best team in England again!!.......D'OH

Aaron Morris: Very impressive performance - Sanchez was excellent, Rob Holding is the real deal.

Arsenal deserved to win from the start - they were quick and had intent.

Only the introduction of Peter Crouch and Saido Berahino suited Stoke, who were poor for an hour.

They were briefly back in the game but they then got picked off on the counter-attack.

An excellent win from a confident Arsenal.

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

So that result leaves Arsenal one point outside the top four in the Premier League.

Liverpool currently occupy fourth spot and play West Ham on Sunday.

Interestingly, Liverpool and Arsenal are level on goal difference. Imagine if  Champions League qualification went down to that...

We started the game with another 'Wenger Out' banner flying over.

We finish the game with a standing ovation for the Arsenal manager from the travelling fans.

It must be weird being a Gunners fan.

This was the trickiest fixture of the three that Arsenal had remaining. Liverpool will be nervous.

They're now on parity on goal difference now too so it puts even more pressure on Liverpool to beat West Ham.

Have Arsenal left this run of wins too late? Their fate is not in their hands, but this is five wins in their last six.

The one blip was that defeat by Tottenham, of course.

Arsenal play about in midfield. Danny Welbeck to Francis Coquelin to Granit Xhaka...but the latter puts the ball out of play.

    The clock runs down.

We've got four minutes added on here at the bet365 stadium.

Peter Crouch tries to find a way through for Stoke but Laurent Koscielny clears.

Now Arsenal break, but Ramadan Sobhi is there to retrieve possession for the hosts.

This game's still got life in it.

Peter Crouch is lucky just to get a yellow card there.

He's gone in high and he's probably just got away with a booking because he didn't make much contact.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 88 mins

    Stoke 1-4 Arsenal

Peter Crouch flies in on Granit Xhaka on the edge of the Arsenal box and is booked. He protests, but I'm not really sure why. It was rash.

Two minutes of the 90 remaining.
