Still the chances come for the hosts. A reverse pass from Dusan Tadic gives Manolo Gabbiadini a chance. But the striker, in his ninth club game without a goal, curls the ball wide.

Swansea offered little as an attacking threat in the first half, but instantly look brighter at the start of the second.

Tammy Abraham produces a lovely swivel turn to deceive Maya Yoshida before shooting at goal, but the effort is blocked by Cedric Soares with the rebound falling to Leroy Fer, who fires wide.

And we're back.

Southampton have had so many chances, but they have not been able to make any of their opportunities count.

Swansea will be relieved to get in to the break level, but Paul Clement will be wanting more from his side as they have not tested Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster at all. Entertaining, but goalless at half-time.

It looks a painful one for Swansea defender Martin Olsson. He is trying to shepherd the ball out of play under pressure from James Ward-Prowse and the defender cannot stop himself in time as he crashes over the advertising board.

After a bit of time, he re-emerges looking a bit shocked, but is able to carry on.

The corner comes to nothing, but Southampton keep the ball alive and it falls to Maya Yoshida 10 yards out after a knockdown from Jack Stephens. Yoshida goes for the spectacular, acrobatic volley but can only shoot it just past the post. Swansea survive again.

Another corner for Southampton. Can they get a goal their pressure deserves?

Oriol Romeu becomes the second Saint to be a sinner. He joins Nathan Redmond in the book for a no-nonsense challenge on Swansea's Tom Carroll as the pair challenged for a bouncing ball.

Southampton's Nathan Redmond, a harsh yellow card aside, has started the season in fine form for the Saints.

Redmond and left back Ryan Bertrand are combining beautifully and Kyle Naughton is struggling to contain them. A fine cross from Redmond caused all sorts of problems and Swansea were relieved to see James Ward Prowse's shot deflect over off Alfie Mawson.

The Swans are grateful to still be on level terms.

Another chance comes for Southampton and another chance goes for Southampton. Nathan Redmond 20 yards out fires over the top. Moments later Swansea try to play themselves out of trouble but gift it to the hosts.

It eventually falls to James Ward-Prowse, who curls one looking to beat Lukasz Fabianski from 25 yards out.

But the keeper is well placed to dive to his left and hold on to the shot.

More pressure from the hosts. This time Nathan Redmond's powerful cross from the left is just too high for the advancing James Ward-Prowse.

The ball is recycled into the box and eventually falls to Redmond, but he gets his shot from 10 yards wrong as he drags his effort well wide.

A half-chance for Southampton. It again comes after good work by the lively Ryan Bertrand. He gets to the byeline and fizzes in a cross. Manolo Gabbiadini darts to the near post and gets there first, but, under pressure from Swans centre-half Alfie Mawson, the Italian can only steer the ball over the top.
