  1. Sickly Sanchezpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 30 July 2017

In case you're wondering where Alexis Sanchez is...he's sick.

The Chiliean, who has been linked with a move away from the Gunners, was set to report back for pre-season on Sunday after his summer break, but has stayed away because of illness.

"He has flu, yes. I had him on text yesterday," said manager Arsene Wenger after Saturday's 5-2 win over Benfica.

Wenger expects Sanchez to return to training on Tuesday.

Here's the man himself, looking a bit sorry for himself alongside his pet pooch.

Gabriel Mercado, the Sevilla right-back, picks up on a loose Arsenal ball and takes an unlikely shot on goal.

It's too weak and dribbles wide.

At the other end, Welbeck sends the ball into the box from the right and tries to find new boy Alexandre Lacazette, who is waiting for a tap in, but Sevilla's Nicolas Pareja scrambles to make a last-ditch clearance.

Former Reading man Daniel Carrico gets on the end of an Ever Benega corner, but his header isn't powerful enough to cause any real problems for Petr Cech.

Seconds later, Danny Welbeck goes on the charge on the left. He's got a defender on his tail and the England striker can only toe-poke into the side netting.

    What a chance for Arsenal!

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain makes a brilliant run up the left and pings the ball across to Hector Bellerin, who is in loads of space.

But the Spaniard spanks the ball over the bar from close range. It only needed a tap...

I see Oxlade-Chamberlain is simply down as 'The Ox' on the Arsenal team-sheet today. Is that a thing now?

The Emirates Cup has a few weird and wonderful rules - such as a point per goal and shots on target potentially deciding the winner.

So we'd like to know what rules you'd put in place if you were creating a pre-season tournament?

The sillier the better, I reckon. My colleague thinks Sevilla should get a bye because of their strong kit choice. Today it's all black, no sponsor, with white socks.
