I thought we played well up until the final third. we played too much in front of them and didn't penetrate in behind, which was disappointing. At the other end, we were opened up on the counter-attack too easily. I think we need to forget about Andrew Mitchell - we still have players with quality so we just need to demand more from the squad we have got. The first goal was sloppy from our perspective because we gave the ball in midfield and we're paying for those types of mistakes at the moment.

    Ards 0-2 Linfield

It's always difficult down here and we knew they were going to be competitive but I thought we were comfortable. We had enough opportunities and I'm disappointed we didn't really kick on all that much tonight but I have to draw the positives which are a clean sheet and another three points. The good thing is that we have options in the squad and that lets me pick what the best team is going into the game on Saturday.

    David Healy, Linfield manager

    Ards 0-2 Linfield

    Quote Message

I thought we played really well in the second half but it was the same as Saturday and if you do that against the champions you are going to get beaten, so it's disappointing. It would have been different if we'd got the goal in the second half but it didn't happen and we are just not giving ourselves the right platform to win football matches.

    Colin Nixon, Ards manager

    Glentoran 2-0 Dungannon Swifts

It is a pleasing start to the season. It was important for us to get off to a good start but I always said we had to be prepared. We're full of energy, full of running and that's testament to the work we've put in over the summer. If we continue to play like that we'll do well this season. I think the biggest criticism I could have is that we didn't come into the dressing room at half-time two or three up. We were relentless in our running up front and never gave them a minute - we were fantastic.

    Gary Haveron, Glentoran manager

    Glentoran 2-0 Dungannon Swifts

Glentoran run out winners thanks to goals in the second half by John McGuigan and Curtis Allen. Maximum points after two matches for the Glens which will please boss Gary Haveron who got a bit of flak after some dodgy results in pre-season friendly matches.

  8. goal

GOALpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Glenavon 6-2 Ballinamallard United

Andrew Mitchell scores his second of the night to wrap up an emphatic victory for the Lurgan side. It looks like Mitchell could be a big player for Gary Hamilton's men this season - but it's Adam Foley who has the match ball in the bag after his second-half hat-trick. Two wins from two for Glenavon, two defeats for Ballinamallard.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

That's it. Goals from Josh Carson and Jamie McGonigle give the Bannsiders an excellent win over an uninspired Cliftonville, who take one step back after their victory against Ards. They were outclassed tonight.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Crusaders 5-0 Warrenpoint Town

Five goals from five different goalscorers for Crusaders as they stroll to the easiest and most emphatic of victories. A job well done for Stephen Baxter's men.

    Carrick Rangers 1-1 Ballymena Utd

It finishes honours even at Taylor's Avenue.

Both clubs pick up their first point of the season.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

Lyons is unleashed through the middle and gets there before Long, who dashes out and finds himself in no man's land. Lyons's looped effort bounces off the pitch and up onto the bar - how unfortunate!

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Ards 0-2 Linfield

Linfield make it two wins from two outings as they begin the defence of their league championship.

The result was never really in doubt after those two goals in the opening half hour.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:32 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

Long makes a fantastic save to deny Bradley what would have been a spectacular Coleraine third! The striker connected with Carson's looping cross acrobatically, directing his effort back across goal which was met by the fingertips of Brett Long. Great play all round.

  15. Off the line!published at 21:25 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

Harney sees another header cleared off the line, but this time it's McCauley who is back fulfilling his defensive duties. It just doesn't seem to be Cliftonville's night.

  16. Difficult to see a way backpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

Coleraine's defence still look reasonably comfortable as Cliftonville continue their quest for ideas in attack. Kearney has his defenders extremely well-drilled, of course, but Cliftonville have unquestionably lacked that bit of quality in the final third tonight.

  17. McGonigle grabs Coleraine's secondpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

  18. goal

GOALpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Glenavon 5-2 Ballinamallard United

Ryan Curran scores on 72 minutes to pull one back for Ballinamallard but surely it is a lost cause for the men from Fermanagh at Mourneview.

  19. goal

GOALpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Glentoran 2-0 Dungannon Swifts

Curtis Allen slots home a left-foot shot to double Glentoran's advantage. That's his third of the season already after netting both in the Belfast men's 2-1 win at Ballinamallard on Saturday.

  20. Cleared off the line!published at 21:15 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 2-0 Cliftonville

Cliftonville certainly aren't going to give up without a fight here as Harney sees his header cleared off the line by Harkin, who has been outstanding for the hosts tonight.

The Belfast side are finally starting to show their teeth, but is it too little, too late?
