The visitors' defence is at sixes and sevens now. Another misunderstanding at the back allows McCauley to control the ball six yards out, with his back to goal. He tees it up for McGonigle, but the forward fails to make it a quick-fire double as he sprays his volley high, wide and not-so-handsome.

    Coleraine 1-0 Cliftonville

A fine opening goal and now we can see what Gray's Cliftonville are made of!

    Glentoran 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

An opening 45 minutes of half-chances and no cutting edge. Perhaps the most interesting thing came before the match when new signing Robbie McDaid was introduced to the Glentoran fans. The former Glenavon and York City striker also had time to strike a contemplative pose for the cameras and it's the best shot of the night so far.

  19. The verdictpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 15 August 2017

    Coleraine 0-0 Cliftonville

Here's the half-time assessment of Liam Beckett, who has been watching the Showgrounds stalemate as part of Sportsound's coverage on Radio Ulster.

    Quote Message

I think Oran Kearney will be the happier of the two managers for sure. Barry Gray will be delighted to get in at 0-0 and regroup. The disappointing aspect for Coleraine is that nobody has been there to put away some of the chances they've created from their play but there is still plenty to play for in the second-half.
