Five minutes until the break. If I was there I'd have nipped off for a half-time snack. Wonder what the offering is in Slovakia? Something involving potatoes I'd guess. Potato dumplings?

Apart from Tom Davies down the right, there has been little creativity from this Everton side. Ronald Koeman told us the away side were going to play "offensive football". I feel cheated.

Sandro has corner duties, but he is made to wait as the referee sorts out a bit of pushing and shoving in the box. Bet the Danish ref/policeman doesn't get that on the streets on Copenhagen.

Anyway... ball is swung in and met by Morgan Schneiderlin's head. Ball flashes over the bar.

Better from Everton. A bit of spark in the attacking third as Sandro and then Tom Davies busily try to unpick the lock. Sandro's cross is almost met by Wayne Rooney's head, but the returning Toffee is beaten to it by a home defender. Corner...

Aye up. Jordan Pickford is a little giddy. The new Toffees keeper races out of his goal to meet a long ball, slipping slightly as he tries to pass out to Leighton Baines. He gets away with it.

And from the resulting corner... MIchael Keane shows why he is a £25m player. Well, a £25m defender. He drags a shot wide of the left-hand post. That's nearer the corner flag.

Couple of half chances for Everton. Davy Klaassen intercepts in the home half, feeding the ball to Sandro.

The sharp Spaniard turns and heads to goal... hit it.... hit it... HIT IT! He dallies as he runs into the area, his shot blocked and diverted for a corner when it finally arrives.

Tom Davies has provided most of Everton's attacking threat so far down that right flank. He crosses to Wayne Rooney who looks to pull the trigger... but slips at the crucial moment.

Another free-kick for the home side inside the Everton half. Another poor delivery. Jordan Pickford turns into Michael Jordan, flying into the air to catch the ball NBA style.

Now they might have something to shout about. Ruzomberok have a free-kick on the left flank, but the delivery is poor and Jordan Pickford gathers.

The home fans are enjoying themselves, despite little excitement on the pitch so far. One bloke jumps up at the front of one of the stands, enthusiastically jumping up and clapping his hands like a fitness instructor. He's pumping up the Ruzomberok 'ultras'.

Back on the pitch... there is still less action than a sedate rom-com. Ruzomberok mount some pressure in the Everton half, well, I say pressure, more a light touch.

A cross from the right is blocked, then Leighton Baines is fouled in his own box by a clumsy shove.

That said - what a great away trip. Cheap drinks, fine weather, picturesque location. What more do you want as a football fan?

Apparently it is about 80p for a beer in Ruzomberok. You'd probably need a few beers to liven this one up at the minute.

Here's Rooney! A clever Sandro flick is nudged on by Davy Klaassen to Rooney, who finds space on the edge of the area. He looks up, tries to chip the keeper, but ball flies over mesh. Ambitious.

Home keeper Matus Macik is called into action for the first time tonight. Not sure Tom Davies meant to shoot, mind. The long-haired blond - now sporting an alice band - clips in from the right side, forcing Macik into a catch. He gathers at the second attempt after patting the ball down into the ground first.

Sandro Ramirez was impressive in his second-half cameo in the first leg, but he has not really been in the game yet. Until he wriggles into space on the left flank, then slips as he looks to to deliver in the box.

Everton have 450 hardy souls who have made the journey over to Slovakia with them. And they're making a good fist of out-singing the locals in the picturesque 4,500 stadium.

Probably thanks to some gentle oiling from strong Slovakian lager.

Here's the first pound paid back by Jordan Pickford. The new Everton keeper is called into action for the first time, getting down low at his near post to block a cross from the right byline.

Erik Daniel sighs. The Ruzomberok man knows he should have pulled it back rather than going straight into the six-yard box. Good run though, promising signs for the hosts.
