Hello! I should start by apologising to any Toffees fans if I appeared to be flippant about this match. This, of course, is a serious business.

Fans of other clubs might see this as a easy trip out to a picturesque hillside in Slovakia, the sort of place where Premier League clubs usually go for their pre-season fitness/bonding camps.

But for Everton this is the real thing. A place in the Europa League play-off awaits. As does sheer embarrassment if they can't beat Slovakian minnows Ruzomberok and see their European campaign end before most people are not from their summer jollies.

Neither do I. But this, my friends, is a 'Remember where you were when...?' moment. Possibly.

Tonight the man who is Britain's first £25m - and potentially £30m - goalkeeper makes his competitive debut for his new club.

    A moment of history.

(And those who think I am overhyping a glorified pre-season friendly for the purposes of entertainment are not entirely wrong.)

Remember where you were when Fraser Forster played his first game since becoming Britain's most expensive keeper?

Or where you were when Craig Gordon did the same before him?

Or, if you're a bit older, when a record-breaking David Seaman made his Arsenal debut in a time when compact discs and baggy jeans were all the rage?

    Nope, nope and nope?
