  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 65 mins

    Arsenal 1-1 Cologne

Almost brilliant! Ainsley Maitland-Niles goes on a jinking, driving run from midfield which sees him skip around the last defender and in on goal. He is met by Timo Horn, who does really well to spread himself and take the ball. AMN could have dinked it though...

But the run was superb. Silky. Jack Wilshere is stripping down.

The tempo has rather gone out of the game at the moment, with the sizable visiting support also falling quiet(er) since the goal.

Sead Koalsinac half lifted his shirt after scoring but seemed to think better of it. We think that his t-shirt underneath carried some sort of reference to his old club Schalke...

Hector Bellerin has to put the afterburners on to chase back and prevent a promising-looking Cologne attack. They had goalscorer Jhon Cordoba in space in the middle.

    Arsenal 1-1 Cologne

That's Arsenal's first goal in the Uefa Cup or Europa league since Nwankwo Kanu scored at Lens on 20 April 2000.

The Gunners have been much improved since half-time as Theo Walcott scoops a cross over.

I was at Wembley when Sead Kolasinac scored in the Community Shield, he is making an impression isn't he? He gets into the area again and delivers a cross which is well dealt with in the end.

GOAL - Arsenal 1-1 Colognepublished at 49 mins

    Sead Koalsinac

Wooooshhh! What a hit that is from the half-time sub!

Theo Walcott is in behind again, he takes an odd touch which takes him away from goal but when his cross back in is deflected up into the air, Sead Kolasinac runs onto it and absolutely leathers a volley into the far corner. Some needed feel-good factor.

Cologne get us up and running once more.

Sead Koalsinac is on for Rob Holding at the break. BACK FOUR.

  10. Leading at the break?published at 22:05 British Summer Time 14 September 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Cologne

Cologne have lost only one of their last 33 games in all competitions after a half-time lead (W26, D6), That was a 1-2 defeat to Augsburg in 2014.

That Jhon Cordoba goal also incorporates one of my favourite niche things in football - a team-mate celebrating ages before the ball hits the net. Simon Zoller called it the moment it left the striker's boot.

Matthew Okot: Wenger has never cut it at European level. 21 years at a big club, 2 finals and 0 trophies. Even the Invincibles failed

Rezaa Sait: After being at the club for a decade, Walcott has still not been good enough to be a regular. Should have started Reiss Nelson.

Loud boos at the break. The natives are restless. The many, many away fans are happy enough.

  14. WAHAAAYYYY!!!!published at 44 mins

Whether you're a Cologne fan, or an Arsenal fan, you're going to cheer when the referee falls over. Guaranteed.

Alexis Sanchez overhits a simple pass into the run of Hector Bellerin for the second or third time this half. Rusty?

  16. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Cologne

Arsenal's best attack. Alex Iwobi runs the ball into the area and finds Alexis Sanchez to his left, he stands up a lovely little cross which Olivier Giroud heads wide under heavy pressure.

Alexis Sanchez is playing much deeper than usual, with Olivier Giroud up front. The Chilean has not been involved too much to be honest.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 35 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Cologne

Jonas Hector is not able to continue. He was clobbered by David Ospina and after coming back on for a minute or two his race is run.

    Milos Jojic comes on.

  20. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 30 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Cologne

Brilliant cross! Konstantin Rausch whips in a superb ball in which David Ospina fumbles, Jonas Hector gets there first and is wiped out by Ospina.

It would be a clear-cut penalty - but the offside flag was already raised. A let-off for the Colombian keeper.

Hector is Germany's first-choice left-back but plays in midfield for Cologne.
