  1. CHANCE!published at 34 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Better from Gerard Deulofeu. A brilliant touch in the box from Nelson Semedo's cut-back and he's into space to cross.

He drills it in to the six-yard box, and Adan does really well to get down and palm to safety, with Paco Alcacer lurking.

  2. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

It's not quite the MSN of Messi Suarez Neymar.

Luis is injured, the Brazilian's left for PSG, leaving just Messi to try and conjure the play we're so used to Barca producing.

Tonight he's working alongside Paco Alcacer and Gerard Deulofeu. No-one can match the genius of Messi, but it's clear his two partners here are several rungs below.

  3. CHANCE!published at 28 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Brilliant take down from Joaquin, he has Samuel Umtiti chasing shadows as he plays Sergio Leon into space with Betis looking to counter quickly.

But in comes the Barca block from a tracking marker at the crucial moment.

Feels like they're really growing into this now, the away side.

  4. CLOSE!published at 26 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Even with four markers on him, Lionel Messi always manages to slip away.

A neat one-two with Sergio Busquets finds the Argentine in space on the edge of the box, central, with enough time to shape a shot away.

Messi curls one, on his left foot, but it's just off target, spinning away past Adan's right-hand post.

  5. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

They've managed to slow Barcelona right down. Every Betis shirt in their own half, only pressing when they need to, two men on Lionel Messi, who's having to drop deep, back to the centre-circle, to try and get something started.

  6. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

A poor kick from Adan goes straight to the Barca midfield, Gerard Deulofeu can shoot inside the box but it's blocked - he had more time to compose himself there perhaps.

Then, as you feel the momentum might be critically swinging, the away side swarm around Lionel Messi to nip this latest move in the bud.

They're defending in numbers and defending well, Betis. They just need to cut out the Arsenal errors.

  7. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Paco Alcacer is looking lively. First a delightful little first-time flick carves a wide open canvas for Sergio Roberto to play in down the left. The move peters out but as Barca recycle the ball he is there again, darting behind the Betis line. The offside flag goes up as the ball reaches him - incorrectly.

  8. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Lionel Messi takes on three men around the edge of the box and is brought down by Matias Nahuel's clumsy challenge.

Ivan Rakitic is there too but Messi will take this free-kick...

Curled just over the bar on his left foot.

  9. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Joaquin accidentally crumples Sergio Busquets' shin in a 50-50, but it takes a few tries to convince the Barcelona midfielder there was no malice in it.

Incredible eyes, Joaquin has. Quite the glare. Lionel Messi's free-kick is cleared the first attempt. Betis holding firm here. But it's all Barca.

  10. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

That's a poor touch from Gerard Deulofeu on the far side and the ball dribbles out of play. Nelson Semedo laid it off and zoomed up the line, but there's no chance of a quick one-two if you can't even keep up with that.

Here's a shot of those special shirts Barca are wearing today.

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Javier Mascherano brings down Sergio Leon and then pretends he really didn't mean to. That was the first time things looked like opening up a little for Betis, and Mascherano wasn't gonna stand for any of that nonsense.

  12. Neymar to make home debutpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    PSG v Toulouse (20:00 BST)

Brazil forward Neymar will make his home debut for Paris St-Germain after he was selected in coach Unai Emery's starting XI.

He features in a strong attacking line-up which includes Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria.

PSG make just one change with Presnel Kimpembe in for Marquinhos in defence.

  13. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Lionel Messi gets his first sight of goal, gliding into space on the edge of the box with a dip of the shoulder and a sway of the hips, but his angled shot is over the top corner.

A really bright start from the home side.

  14. CHANCE!published at 3 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

There are quite a few empty seats still in the stands, I'm assuming because extra security measures might be delaying people on the way in. It was expected to be a sell-out.

Anyway, a couple of early touches for new boy Nelson Semedo as the home side slide the ball across the turf.

Sergio Roberto makes a dart down the opposite flank now, cuts across goal from the left wing, and Gerard Deulofeu stabs wide with a first-time glancing shot. Probably should have done better with that.

First, all the players gather round the centre circle, referee and assistants too, and pose next to a banner reading: 'TotsSomBarcelona'. 'We are all Barcelona.'

Applause sweeps up and down the curved stands.

    Now, a minute's silence.

  20. Neymar set for Parc de Princes debutpublished at 19:04 British Summer Time 20 August 2017

    PSG v Toulouse (20:00 BST)

The world's most expensive player, aka Neymar, is finally set to make his home debut for Paris St-Germain, against Toulouse.

Having not been registered in time for the home encounter against Amiens, the 25-year-old finally got to run out for his new team, against Guingamp last week. And the £200m man made an immediate impact by scoring in the 3-0 win.

"We must be careful not to call this the meeting between Toulouse and just Neymar," said Toulouse coach Pascal Dupraz.

"Paris are going to be the champions of France, I think, and once again at the front of the European stage, but we will be the opponents against all of this and I believe in the possibility of getting a result."
