Swansea City's Sam Clucas was on Football Focus earlier discussing his interesting, if unusual, route into the top flight.

He said: "At one point I worked at Debenhams at weekends. It was strange

"I was playing football for the college team and county team but once you're outside the football bubble it's hard to break back in.

"I went to the Glenn Hoddle academy and that gave me confidence.

"I managed to get a chance back in the game at Hereford and after that the rest is history."

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 30 September 2017

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Not the most thrilling first half of football you will see this season. Or plenty for the defensive purists if you prefer.

  3. Postpublished at 40 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Javier Hernandez has been a peripheral and largely frustrated figure for the Hammers. The Mexican poacher has struggled to strike up an understanding with Andy Carroll and barely had a touch. Suspect there may be a few tweaks to West Ham at the interval. Either that or a few tea cups slung by Slaven Bilic.

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Half a chance for West Ham, Andy Carroll controls a ball on the right and cuts back inside before he curls the ball into the penalty area. Andre Ayew dives to glance a header at goal but it's a fairly routine save for Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal.

  5. Postpublished at 34 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

There's a growing tetchiness in the London Stadium among the home fans. It has been pretty sluggish stuff from the Hammers so far.

  6. Postpublished at 30 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Aaron Cresswell lunges in to win the ball off Renato Sanches but caught the studs of the Portugal man, who earns a booking. A little harsh perhaps.

  7. Postpublished at 27 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

West Ham have given possession away far too cheaply here so far. Swansea enjoying plenty of the ball but not really able to break down the Hammers defence. All a bit cagey so far. Not even a third of the game gone but you sense one goal might win it today.

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

A speculative long-range effort from Martin Olsson sails high over the goal and into the stands. Positive intent from Swansea. A a bit of chuntering from the home fans.

Both managers, suited and booted, are up on their feet in their respective technical areas and are barking instructions to their charges.

  10. CLOSE!published at 16 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Swansea a bit more on the front foot and Wilfried Bony forces West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart to make a decent stop. About 30 yards from goal the striker sees a bit of space open up in front of him and strikes a powerful effort goal. Hart judges the swerve of the ball and parries it to safety.

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Chest pumped out and dreadlocks blowing in the wind, Renato Sanches has looked silky on the ball so far. In a deeper role, Swansea have tried to get him on the ball as as often as possible. West Ham have been wise to it so far, and quickly closed down the Portugal man whenever he has been in possession.

  12. Postpublished at 5 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

West Ham's game plan is fairly clear here. Get the play out wide quickly and put the Swansea defence under pressure with balls into Andy Carroll. Swansea have made a cautious start.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 3 min

    West Ham 0-0 Swansea

West Ham making all the early running here. A deep cross from Aaron Cresswell picks out Michail Antonio at the back post. The Hammers man does not catch the ball cleanly but his miscued effort still forces Swansea goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski to make a fine diving save to his right. Close.

That dog again... Players coming out of the tunnel at the London Stadium, the bubble machine is on overdrive. We are almost ready to go.

The way West Ham are playing right now is not going to work. Teams can go to the London Stadium and let them have it. If they went direct, got crosses into the box to Andy Carroll, the fans may not like it but it gets you results and gets you up the table.

They didn't like that style of football under Big Sam, he got the boot. Certain clubs expect certain styles of football. But they need wins.

Could this man be back in the Premier League?

Carlo Ancelotti's departure from Bayern Munich means the gossip, external surrounding Slaven Bilic has gone into overdrive.

So now even more of Bilic's time is taken up answering questions regarding his seemingly tenuous position as West Ham's manager.

In the bottom three with four points from the opening six matches clearly isn't where the owners figured they'd be.

Things could change quite quickly though, with winnable-looking games against Swansea, Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace in the next month.

Swansea are a tough nut to crack, though. Well organised, they're unbeaten away from home this season and have yet to concede a goal on the road in the Premier League.

  18. 'Ins and outs affected us'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 30 September 2017

Anyway, in more serious matters, Paul Clement believes Swansea City's late transfer activity is behind their poor goal-scoring start to the season.

The Swans have scored just three goals and have had only 10 shots on target, the lowest in the Premier League.

"The fact that there were so many ins and outs has had an impact on us in the early part of the season," Clement said.

"The more this team train together and play together the better they're going to get. We are working on that and I fully believe we are going to keep improving in that area."

West Ham fans feeling the tension? Well, here's a picture of a dog wearing a Hammers kit on its way to the London Stadium for today's game to ease that stress. Must admit there is a huge temptation to wheel out a whole load of canine-inspired puns now.

On-loan Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches is recalled to Swansea's side as head coach Paul Clement also brings in Tammy Abraham and Leon Britton. Sam Clucas, Mike van der Hoorn and Leroy Fer are the men to miss out and all drop to the bench.
