Chelsea manager Antonio Conte after his side's defeat: “We played this game without three important players and that's not straightforward. We started very badly and it was a very difficult day. But we need also to understand the situation and to continue to work, to find solutions despite our injuries.

“They are big losses for us but we can only accept the situation and then do our best. We have to go game by game, and this season will be very difficult in all aspects. At the end of the season we'll see what has happened, but we are trying to build something important for the future.

“The only solution I know in this circumstance is to work and work and work and work."

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is delighted for match-winner Wilfried Zaha after the returning forward scores the decisive goal in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Selhurst Park.

Since Slaven Bilic took over at West Ham, the Hammers have picked up 12 red cards in the PL, three more than any other side.

There were just 99 seconds between Andy Carroll's first yellow card and his second.

West Ham United

Despite conceding a late equaliser, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic says "it was a good point" for his 10 men.

"I have mixed emotions because we were close to three points but it's not easy with 10 men. Losing Andy was a big blow for us," says the former Croatian international.

"Even so we could have scored another in the second half and then we defended well. We had to.

"We defended their crosses well until the last one. I can only praise my players for their effort, quality and performance.

"When we had 11 v 11 we were much better today; dangerous and attacking. We have to build on this now."

West Ham United

Slaven Bilic admitted he was "disappointed" with Andy Carroll's first half red card.

He said: "I have no complaints with Andy's sending off - he's an experienced player. With the second one you can't do that, especially two minutes after you've been booked.

"I haven't spoken to him yet. I'm very disappointed."

Burnley boss Sean Dyche thought Andy Carroll had to go. Hammers counterpart Slaven Bilic, you might be surprised to learn, did not think otherwise...

Burnley have gone six top-flight games without defeat for the first time since February 1975.

Sean Dyche admitted Burnley struggled to break down 10-man West Ham after Andy Carroll's early sending off for a second yellow card.

He said: "They sort of semi-camped in with 10 men. Generally we had a lot of the ball but it can be difficult to break them down.

"A fine bit of quality eventually got us a goal and it was a fine goal.

"I think the ref had to send Carroll off. The second one is a possible straight red. I like players to be robust but it could have been straight red.

"I'm very pleased. The way we're going in general is good - I'm certainly not disappointed with that."

Huddersfield have failed to score in four consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since August 2004.

The Terriers are without a win in six league games (D3 L3) for the first time since November 2015.

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner: "The time of the goals wasn't the best one. I am was frustrated by the performance in the first-half in terms of our bravery, I was happier with second-half, we were braver and more confident on the ball.

"There were so many unlucky situations that went against us. This isn't good, we have to change and like to change [our scoring record]."

Tottenham finally recorded a home league win in 2017-18, after drawing two and losing one of their previous three this season.

Tottenham Hotspur

More from Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "We needed to win and take the three points.

"They played so deep in the first half and we could not find any space.

"In the Premier League you can always concede but Hugo Lloris made two good saves for us. Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is OK, he has already asked to train after the game."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "The team played well. It was difficult to find the space. We had a lot of time on the ball but could not break down the opponent.

"In the second half we found better positions and moved the ball quickly, it was much better. We are always suffering if you don't score the second goal. It was good, not great, but enough to win the three points.

"Last night Ben Davies was feeling unwell so we had to change but we were always going to play a back four. Jan Vertonghen can play at left-back.

"I am delighted we have won but it is impossible to stop you asking me about Wembley!"

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola “I am happy for the victory, we had to focus after the international break, to start well.

"We didn’t lose easy balls, we play fast and simple. That’s why I am very pleased. It is the best [performance] since I am here."

On Kevin de Bruyne's performance: "He is one of the best by far, he is someone who produced a lot of actions. He is dynamic but David [Silva] was moving and creating spaces. I am very happy for our fans. Sergio Aguero is not 100%, so I was delighted to give minutes to Bernardo Silva, to Yaya Toure and Ilkay Gundogan too. All the players deserve to play."

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill: “The performance level today was not up to the standard it should be. We played poorly today, for whatever reason.

“We've had many international players who have been away but that's part and parcel of modern football. We need to be ready, we needed to be more lively, we were missing out on second balls. That's unlike us.

“We're not having the best of luck in terms of injuries - you saw Victor Moses today - and we’ve not got the biggest squad. But it needed to be a better performance today.

“We need to win games like this, and in terms of the title after Christmas we need to be there or thereabouts. We are disappointed by the result and disappointed in the quality of our performance.

“Listen, the best thing to do now is to play again as soon as possible. We can do better than that and we're very disappointed.”
