    Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea

While the Palace fans make a lot of noise, Chelsea settle themselves and pile forward in a lovely move.

Once again it's cut out by Van Aanholt. They start again, Willian to Batshuayi to Cahill.

Azpilicueta then tries to ping the ball across the box to Marcos Alonso but it drifts out.

That is so richly deserved for Crystal Palace, who have been absolutely superb since the first kick of the game. Time and again the Eagles have won the ball off the opposition - well done Palace.

The right attitude from the off, the better team by a distance, and not one Chelsea player on that pitch has matched them.

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea

That goal could go down as an OG for Cesar Azpilicueta, having seen the replay.

Palace aren't resting on their laurels though. They've got Chelsea back-peddling again!

    Yohan Cabaye (11 mins)

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. CRYSTAL PALACE HAVE DONE A GOAL.

Andros Townsend cuts back and thanks to a tap from Jeffrey Schlupp, the ball falls to Yohan Cabaye.

He chests the ball down and it tumbles past the keeper and it's taken a deflection. Does he care? Absolutely not.

Palace have their first Premier League goal of the season!

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has planted himself on the grass and is frantically rubbing the back of his knee.

The Blues defender will carry on without treatment, but he doesn't look very comfortable.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger at Selhurst Park for 5 live Sport

Chelsea have not started particularly well. Neither Hazard nor Willian look comfortable - they haven't got to grips with this Selhurst Park surface and are slipping and sliding all over the place.

Palace are by a distance the better side! The fans were on the players' side from a long time before kick-off, and in all honesty the Eagles just look more up for it than the Blues.

Chelsea are all over the place.

  7. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

Another chance for Palace! Townsend to Zaha again, and this time the latter tries to ping the ball to Yohan Cabaye but he's not fast enough to beat the Chelsea defence, who clear their lines.

  8. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

This is very, very positive from Palace. They're all over Chelsea like a rash.

Luka Milivojevic finds Patrick van Aanholt and his cross from the left is cleared in the box by Cesar Azpilicueta.

Everyone expects a certain outcome here. A lot of Palace fans might feel very down and negative at the moment, but if they do they're not showing it here today. The side needs to give everything they've got and their supporters are trying to lift them.

But if they concede first then I fear for Roy Hodgson's men this afternoon.

  10. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

Hazard tries to wiggle his way through into the area but he's blocked by Milivojevic and Palace go on the charge!

Andros Townsend scampers up the left and wrong-foots David Luiz before feeding to Wilfried Zaha in the box, but the Palace striker can't get his shot past Thibaut Courtois, who saves with his feet.

Zaha won't be match fit. He needs to be given plenty of game time, because though he might have been good in training it makes no odds - this is Premier League football. He'll find today tough.

I fear for Palace. While other teams in the league have improved and strengthened, Palace have simply stagnated.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

Wilfried Zaha gets his first run up the right wing before being suffocated by the white shirts of Chelsea.

The (non) Blues play it around the midfield. Willian tries to link up with Michy Batshuayi but it comes to nothing.

  13. 'Chelsea won't struggle today'published at 15:00 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Chelsea

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City and England defender on 5 live Sport

Chelsea are undoubtedly much weaker without the likes of Morata and Costa, but I think they won't struggle today.

This will be a real test for Crystal Palace and one I don't think they will pass. At the final whistle I fully expect it to be eight games, eight defeats, zero points. And can they recover from that? I don't think so.

Chelsea have got a couple of injury problems but it is still a huge ask to expect the Eagles to get anything out of this game.

The question still remains as to where the goals will come from. We might not find out the answer for another week.

    Prediction: 0-2

    Pat Nevin

Any team, if they go on a bit of a run, can get a bit of belief back. But at the moment Crystal Palace do not look good enough, and I'm not sure they have enough quality players going forward.

Chelsea will miss Kante and Morata, but their back line is still so strong. It's the same defence that won the title last season.

If Chelsea play at their best today they should create plenty of chances and should win this game.

That eagle they bring out pre-match at Selhurst Park has flapped his huge wings and landed on the advertising boards with his huge talons, and scared a poor little kid on the front row.

  20. Chelsea on the chasepublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

Last season's kings are struggling to keep up with the pretenders to the throne so far.

Chelsea's 1-0 defeat by Man City before the international break left them fourth in the table, behind City, Man Utd and Spurs.

The Blues have failed to score in two of their past three Premier League matches under Antonio Conte, as many as in their previous 36.

But they do love a local derby. They've won more points - 421 - in Premier League London derbies than any other side in the competition’s history.
