A year ago Huddersfield were licking their wounds after a 3-1 defeat by Preston, now they are beating Manchester United 2-0 and deservedly so.

"Can't quite believe it," says the stadium announcer as he reminds the fans of the score before introducing former Huddersfield and Manchester Utd forward Denis Law on to the pitch.

One or two Man Utd fans might hope Law has brought his boots after their side's first-half showing...

Huddersfield will be delighted by that half.

The defence was supposed to be the rock of Manchester United's team but it has been badly exposed today.

Phil Jones going off was a big loss and Victor Lindelof has had a nightmare second game in the league.

Juan Mata did not cover himself in glory, giving the ball away for the opener.

Anthony Martial has also been poor and Romelu Lukaku has had only two touches in the Terriers box.

The home team have been well organised and clinical. An impressive display from David Wagner's side, led by the midfield driving force of Aaron Mooy.

Two mistakes by Manchester United, two goals to Huddersfield.

    It's as simple as that.

Jesse Lingard with the corner, the ball falls to Nemanja Matic but his shot goes wide.

Better by Manchester United, but they are not hitting the target.

Manchester United look nervy in possession, a performance that harks back to the days of Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.

Jose Mourinho has already seen enough, he's already down the tunnel.

Off to warm up the hairdryer?

    Two mistakes, two goals.

Huddersfield have been clinical in punishing United's sloppiness today.

Would not fancy being in the away team dressing room at half-time.

Incredible, incredible noise inside this stadium. Woops of joy and kids looking at their parents in disbelief. Many fans on the way into the ground were talking about this being a free hit but they are urging Huddersfield on to push for a third.

No reaction from Jose Mourinho, who stood staring straight ahead while three sides of the ground celebrated around him.

Huddersfield fully deserving of their two goal lead.

    Oh my.

Huge mistake by Victor Lindelof, who will have nightmares about this game.

Jonas Lössl goes route one with a goalkick down the middle and Lindelof, a £31m summer signing, misjudges his header completely, allowing Laurent Depoitre a free run at goal and he rounds De Gea to double the Terriers lead.

Huge celebrations at the John Smith's Stadium as the Terriers take the lead.

Aaron Mooy started and finished that goal.

The Australian latched onto a loose ball by Juan Mata and passed to Tom Ince who shoots but his effort is kept out by David de Gea.

The ball rebounds to Mooy who sweeps home from 10 yards as the United defenders stand and watch.

United's clean sheet record comes to an end.

Ashley Young is providing the best attacking option for United from the left.

He crosses for Romelu Lukaku, who tries an acrobatic effort but it goes out for a goal kick.

Just before that Jesse Lingard had slid through a promising ball but Martial and Lukaku could not quite get to it.
