  2. 'Whose man is that?'published at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Watford 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

It's one of the biggest issues I find with set pieces - are you zonal marking or are you marking man to man?

Nobody is taking responsibility for the run, the players are throwing their arms in the air as if to say whose man is that? Having said that, it is a great run and lovely glanced header.

  3. goal

GOAL - Watford 1-0 Tottenhampublished at 12 mins

    Christian Kabasele (Watford)

A great start for the hosts. Richarlison, free on the left, wins a corner, which is taken by Tom Cleverley.

The delivery finds Christian Kabasele six yards out in the middle of the goal, he out-jumps Harry Kane and heads the ball into the net. Disaster for Tottenham.

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

For the second time in 10 minutes, Harry Kane looks to be in pain. He is able to carry on, but one to monitor.

  5. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

Once again, Christian Eriksen looks to slide a pass in for Son Heung-min, who is causing problems running in from the left wing. This time the two are not on the same wavelength but that already looks an avenue where the visitors can have some success.

  6. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

The corner falls to Kieran Trippier, who opts to shoot at goal on the edge of the box, but he gets it horribly wrong, with the ball going almost sideways, and bouncing off a Watford man.

  7. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

Corner for Spurs. Bright start for the visitors on a grey day.

  8. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

A chance for Tottenham as a cross-field ball from Eric Dier finds Kieran Trippier, close to the deadball line. The full-back fires in a low cross and Harry Kane just misses contact, under pressure from Abdoulaye Doucoure.

  9. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham seeing a lot of the ball so far, with Christian Eriksen trying to thread a pass through for the well-timed run of Son Heung-min. Luckily for Watford they spot the danger.

  10. Postpublished at 1 min

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

It looks like a back four for Tottenham today. Will a shift in formation get Spurs' Premier League campaign back on track?

  13. 'It could be an open game'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Watford v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Former Liverpool defender

Some of Spurs' stars have not hit the heights of last season, but at least they have good memories of Vicarage Road - when they took the Hornets apart here on New Year's Day.

It could be an open game, which would suit Tottenham, although I think it will be a lot closer than their last visit.

    Prediction: 1-2

Watford manager Marco Silva, who Everton had wanted as their manager before the Hornets' refused to let their boss speak to the Toffees, has given a quick explanation into why Troy Deeney got the nod up front today instead of Andre Gray.

  16. 'Spurs have looked slightly one dimensional'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Watford v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    John Motson
Match of the Day commentator at Vicarage Road

Both sides come into this game after disappointing midweek results.

Watford are the epitome of a Jekyll and Hyde team, but there's no doubt that Marco Silva has improved them. I imagine everybody at the club breathed a collective sigh of relief when Sam Allardyce was finally confirmed as the Everton manager.

Spurs arrive at Vicarage Road in seventh, 16 points adrift of leaders Manchester City. Mauricio Pochettino has already conceded that their title challenge is over, and after collecting one point from their last three games it's hard to disagree.

Toby Alderweireld's injury was always going to be a huge blow to Spurs, but they will be hoping that Erik Lamela's return, external provides a new ingredient to a team which has looked slightly one dimensional in recent weeks.

  17. 'The sky is the limit'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Watford v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

Watford defender Marvin Zeegelaar says his side can gain another shock result today.

He said: "We have another big game against Tottenham now but we must play like we did in the second half (against Manchester United) otherwise they will punish us.

"We want to win all the games, even against the big clubs. We have shown already that we can do it as we have beaten Arsenal here.

"We want to finish as high as possible and we have some good players. So the sky is the limit."

  18. 'We need to change the dynamic'published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Watford v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

Some quotes now from Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. "It's true we struggled against Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion and the performance against Leicester wasn't the best. Sometimes you need to be more clinical or a little more lucky to win the game.

"We are in a period where we need to change the dynamic and start to build our momentum again. It's a great opportunity to start again, against Watford.

"We need to be calm and not take decisions with emotion. It's important to be right in how you assess the team and why we dropped points in the last few games."

  19. How things standpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

This is how things stand in the Premier League after Chelsea's 3-1 win over Newcastle in the early kick-off.

Tottenham could go up to fifth, but need to win and hope Liverpool and Burnley slip-up in their matches against Brighton and Leicester respectively.

Watford could move above Spurs, but would need a six-goal win to do so.
