  1. City a 'fearful team'published at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    Man City 4-1 Tottenham

    Chris Sutton
    Ex-Chelsea striker on MOTD2 Extra

I don't think there has been a season where a team has struck so much fear into all the opposition.

We're in mid-December and it's never been like this before. I simply don't think teams know how to play against Manchester City.

Rian Hoskins: City score all different types of goals while they are not as one dimensional as some will make out, it doesn't half help when you have match winners such as Kevin de Bruyne in the team who drives them forward and gives them confidence to express themselves.

Sukhbir Singh‏: Yes city are exceptional but it's not over till it's impossible. Anything is possible, remember Newcastle and Keegan!

  3. Tell us something new about City?published at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on MOTD2 Extra

We've spoken about Manchester City's attacking qualities but what I am really impressed about is how good defensively they are and how quickly they win the ball back after losing it. They didn't let Spurs have a good ball through to Harry Kane yesterday.

Psychologically, Man City go out and believe they can beat anybody. I was the same with England when we played Germany. We were beaten before we went out on the pitch. You would go out with a game plan on how to beat them but as soon as you go a goal down you wonder to yourself how you are going to get back.

Kevin de Bruyne's feet are like paintbrushes, he's an artist. He's a thinking footballer, so creative, he creates chances for everyone and he'll take his own when he gets them.

He'll work hard for you as well. Young kids watching this, he's not admiring passes. He wants to get after things, there's an energy and desire in his football.

He wants to work hard, he's giving his manager everything, he's on fire - the world is his oyster at the moment.

He's taking people out of their seats. The calibre of football he's playing is outstanding.

Manchester City's 4-1 win over Tottenham at a frozen Maine Road on 9 December 1967 has gone down in folklore as the so-called "Ballet On Ice".

Just over 50 years on, Pep Guardiola's modern-day side produced a masterclass in the mist against those same opponents as Spurs - regarded as one of the Premier League's superpowers - were outclassed by the same scoreline at Etihad Stadium.

City's win on Saturday put them 14 points clear at the top of the table, increased their winning league sequence to 16 games and threatens to turn the title race into a procession before the turn of the year.

So are Manchester City now on course to eclipse the great sides of the Premier League era?

How about this one from the Sunday Times?

The newspaper says the possibility of Paris St-Germain forward Neymar moving to Real Madrid for a record £220m moved closer.

Apparently, the Brazilian international's dad met with Real president Florentino Perez.

    Hmmmm.
