The trio of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose remain on the sidelines.

Burnley forward Jonathan Walters has been ruled out after injuring his ankle against Blackburn on Wednesday.

  3. Perisic '99% dead' for Man Utdpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

I am told Manchester United’s attempt to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan is 99% dead.

The two clubs were close to agreeing a deal at one point this summer but the gap could not be bridged and Perisic has been playing – and scoring for Inter in the opening games of the season.

It would take something extraordinary to happen for that transfer to be concluded now.

Does Jose Mourinho have another option?

Maybe he will tell us when he speaks to the media at 1330BST.

  4. 'The team will improve'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

Newcastle v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has been speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow's home tie against West Ham.

Not the best start for the newly promoted side - so far they have picked up a total of zero points...

"I have confidence the team will improve, if we keep working the way we are now. We are reducing the number of players we have, and we can keep looking for different options in the market."

He also brings us some team news...

"Florian Lejeune is not ready, DeAndre Yedlin is still not ready and Karl Darlow (keeper) has a knock and will not be on the bench."

Jonjo Shelvey serves the final game of a three-match ban.

  6. Man City news conferencepublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

Bournemouth v Man City (12:30 BST)

    Pep brings team news...

"Benjamin Mendy is travelling with us. I don’t know if he will play. Kyle Walker cannot play. Ilkay Gundogan will play with the second team".

Pep also brings thoughts on Alexis Sanchez and other so-called transfer targets...

"Sanchez is an Arsenal player, like Mbappe is Monaco and Jonny Evans is West Brom. You have to ask Alexis. "

So that settled that - sort of.

Pep Guardiola: "We dropped two points but in general we made good things. I am happy with the performances so far this season.

"Bournemouth are a team who want to play. The manager is so good in those terms. They start with two defeats but sometimes that can happen".

So what of their chances in the Champions League... Just a reminder, they have Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli and Feyenoord.

"In UCL you expect the first and second pot to be strong but I think Napoli are one of the three best teams in Europe right now."

  10. Ibrahimovic is our 'extra man'published at 14:07 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be Manchester United's 'extra man' after Christmas, says boss Jose Mourinho.

Ibrahimovic re-joined the Red Devils on Thursday but is not ready to return to action after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury towards the end of last season.

"He won't be ready for the group phase of the Champions League," said Mourinho. "No chance of that. Hopefully he can play in the knockout stage but for that we have to finish in top two.

"I just think he will be extra man for us in the second part of the season."

And what of Chelsea's opponents on Sunday...

"Ronald Koeman has built a really strong team. This season they improved a lot and we must pay great attention on Sunday.
