    It has been a difficult summer for Chelsea all things considered, which has placed the future of manager Antonio Conte under scrutiny.

    There were some stories in Germany this week that Chelsea had lined up former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel to replace Conte.

    However, it is understood there has been no contact from Chelsea with Tuchel or his advisors, nor will there be.

    So that's that.

    Barnsley signing Dimitri Cavare - who had a trial with Huddersfield earlier this summer, will have to wait to make his debut as a hamstring strain keeps him out despite receiving international clearance.

    Defender Zeki Fryers, also hamstring, and midfielder Lloyd Isgrove with a foot problem, miss out through injury.

    Sunderland boss Simon Grayson has no new injury concerns, and Bryan Oviedo could again feature overcoming a calf niggle from Tuesday's win at Carlisle.

    Midfielder Jack Rodwell remains absent despite returning to training.

    Inter Milan striker Stevan Jovetic has been a man in demand this summer.

    The former Manchester City is yet to agree a move out of the San Siro, despite offers from CSKA Moscow and a couple of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle.

    However, Jovetic's hopes of landing the big move he is hoping for appear slim and as his prospects at Inter are not great, the Montenegrin may well reset his sights before the 31 August deadline.

    Huddersfield's new signings Abdelhamid Sabiri and Florent Hadergjonaj will not be considered for selection so soon after joining the club.

    Jonathan Hogg, Nahki Wells, Jon Gorenc Stankovic and Martin Cranie remain sidelined.

    Southampton will make a late decision on whether to hand a start to Wesley Hoedt following his move from Lazio.

    Fellow centre back Virgil Van Dijk will not be included as he continues to be linked with a move away from St Mary's.

    Inter Milan are hoping to conclude a deal for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala before the transfer window closes.

    Mangala spent last season on loan at Valencia and has no future at City under Pep Guardiola.

    Inter need a centre-half and have been in talks with City over a loan deal for the France international, who cost the Blues £32m when they signed him from Porto in 2014.

    City would prefer a permanent sale or at least a commitment by Inter to buy Mangala once his loan is over.

    Chelsea are keen to sign Swansea's Fernando Llorente, according to the Telegraph, external.

    The Blues are set to offer £15 million for the striker before Thursday's deadline as Antonio Conte remains keen on a reunion.

    Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell praised manager, Brendan Rodgers, for guiding Celtic to their 10th Champions League group stage appearance, and spoke of the excitement at the draw.

    "We're relishing it," said Lawwell. "I haven't spoken to Brendan since the draw but I'm sure he's relishing it and we'll be ready to do our very best.

    The Scottish champions were in pot four in Thursday's draw in Monaco, with the German champions top seeds and the big-spending French outfit in pot two.

    "It could have been slightly easier but it's certainly box office," Lawwell told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

    Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s France forward Ousmane Dembele.

    After weeks of speculation about Barcelona’s interest in the 20-year-old, a source close to the deal told the BBC it is now moving towards a conclusion.

    No transfer fee has been confirmed but Dembele will become the second most expensive player in history, behind Neymar, as Barcelona have already had an offer of 100m Euros (£92.1m) turned down by Dortmund.

    Dembele joined the German side from Rennes for 15m Euros (£13.8m) 12 months ago.

    He only made his professional debut in 2015 but has already made seven appearances for the French national side, scoring his first goal against England in June.

    Liverpool and Manchester United are working with UEFA after the teams were both drawn away in the Champions League group stages and will play in Moscow in the space of 24 hours.

    Spartak host Liverpool on Tuesday the 26th of September while the following day United face CSKA.

    The two clubs will work with UEFA on security and safety of the supporters is absolutely paramount.

    There is no proposal at this stage for either fixture to be reversed.

    Apparently, City will launch a third bid, of more than £25m, to sign West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans. That's according to reports in The Times. , external

    We told you earlier that West Brom have completed the signing of 20-year-old Scottish winger Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig on a five-year deal. Here's some more information...

    He became the most expensive Scottish player ever when he joined the Bundesliga side for a fee of about £13m in August 2016.

    He made 25 league appearances last season and helped Leipzig qualify for the 2017-18 Champions League group stage.

    Burke said: "I feel like it is a time for me to play more games.
