    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

Well. Real have to watch that they don't get caught out on the break.

On this occasion, Alex Alegria fires in a low shot that is easily collected by Kiko Casilla.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

Sergio Ramos has just taken one in the mush.

Or was it. Alex Alegria's arm appears to catch the Real defender in the chest.

It's when the defender goes down he hurts his face.

Anyway, it's a yellow for the Levante man, which seems a bit harsh.

    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

Real get us back under way.

It's still sunny in Madrid. The weather spoils our Spanish brothers and sisters.

  4. Postpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

The players are back in the tunnel.

How do you see this going?

I can very much see Isco coming on after his worldie of a display against Italy.

Anyway, it's 1-1 at the moment. If it ends in a draw then both teams will have five points from three games.

By tomorrow, it might be mid-table obscurity for Real.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

Tbf the half ended well for Real.

Bale-o had a couple of chances, and Levante look weak on corners.

The visitors will be camped in their own half for much of the next 45 mins. Hope they bring the marshmallows to toast.

  7. CLOSE!published at 45+1 mins

    Real Madrid 1-1 Levante

Nacho goes all Tom Brady and floats a long pass into the path of Bale.

The Wales man's poked effort on the angle just goes wide of Raul's far post.

    Lucas Vazquez (36 mins)

Well, Sergio Ramos had a hand in it - not literally.

The skipper gets his head on to the corner-ball but it's kept out by keeper Raul. However, the loose ball falls at the toes of Lucas Vazquez, who pokes in at the far post.

They'll consider themselves a wee bit fortunate methinks.

    Real Madrid have a corner.

Ramos and Bale will be salivating.

  12. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

Those with a GCSE in football time management can see there are 11 minutes-plus-stoppage until HT.

Real don't look like getting one before the break. Zidane might need to tweak.

  13. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

Levante have a free-kick in, what is universally known as, "a dangerous position".

Goalscorer Ivi steps up and bends a brilliant ball which drifts an inch or two wide of Kiko Casilla's near post.

    Decent strike.

  14. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

Bale almost gets on the end of a long punt downfield from Marcelo.

He was a size 11 away from poking that past the Levante keeper.

  17. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

They're not quite feeling this one yet, are Real Madrid?

They did have more players on international duty than Levante had.

As an aside.... there are 17 Spanish players on the pitch.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

    Levante's Ivan Lopez is hobbling.

He's been replaced by Pedro Lopez.

Mr I Lopez was the player who launched that Steve Watson-esque throw-in for the goal.

    He will be missed.

  19. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Levante

    Real look to bite back.

This time Marcelo and Theo Hernandez play a one-two, but Levante keeper Raul spots the danger early - dashing out to collect the ball at the feet of the Real left-back.

  20. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 0-1 Levantepublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Ivi (12 mins)

Ol' Ivi - aka Ivan Lopez Alvarez - does get the better of Carvajal this time.

A long throw-in arrives at the feet of the Levante player, who initially miscontrols the ball but keeps his eye on the object unlike Carvajal who appears to lose his bearings as his opponent tucks in.

    Bernabeu is silent-ish.
