At the other end, Levante ping the ball about. It eventually finds its way to Ivi, whose strike on the angle is blocked by Dani Carvajal.

    That wasn't offside was it?

Benzema - we realise he has been mentioned a lot already - appears to beat the offside trap as he darts forward to reach the ball played into the area, but he's shown the yellow flag.

    Hmmm...

    Real Madrid 0-0 Levante

Levante, as you might or might not know, came up as Segunda Division champions.

They won the league by 14 points and sealed promotion with six games remaining.

Fair to say, it was a good campaign. They've settled a little after Real's early forays.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Levante

Marco Asensio produces a pirouette and plays a ball intended for Karim Benzema but it's cut out by Levante in the nick of time.

Moments later, Jefferson Lerma loses possession in midfield but makes amends for his error by racing into his area to prevent Benzema from unleashing.

The France striker could have bagged two by now.

  6. Teams are out on the pitchpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

Real Madrid v Levante (12:00 BST)

The teams are out on the pitch. Usually it's Crissy Ron at the top end slapping his Real Madrid team-mates on the back as they walk out, but he's not there :(

On the plus side, it's a lovely sunny day in Madrid. Very similar to the scenes across the UK...

    Hello.

    Tea in a glass.

    Tuna with sweetcorn.

    People who say "haitch".

All wrong. As is Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yes, it reads a bit Accidental Partridge, but Los Blancos without the wonderfully coiffured Portugal forward doesn't look right.

The 32-year-old - yes, he's 32 now - is serving a five-match ban (this is his fourth game) for the double whammy of 'double yellow and ref push'.

If only Real had a player who's scored four goals in six games - ah yes, they do. he's called Marco Asensio and he's very good. He might start on the bench though.

They are facing Levante, who also have four points from their first two games.

Team news followed by live text coming up.
