A suited Wayne Rooney watching on from the stands next to Phil Jagielka will have appreciated the goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It was a composed finish as he shifted his feet to guide it in right footed.

Earlier there was enthusiastic applause for another England U20 World Cup winner, Jonjoe Kenny, making his first appearance of the season.

  13. Rashford's targetpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 20 September 2017

    Manchester United 2-0 Burton Albion

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Marcus Rashford started his senior career by scoring twice in both his first two games for Manchester United, against Danish team Midtjylland and then Arsenal in the Premier League.

Since then, the teenager has done the double only once, against Reading in the FA Cup last season.

He is still to score a senior hat-trick. He has just over an hour - substitutes permitting - to complete one.

I bet I know who will take the penalty if the home side get one.
