    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Kenneth Zohore sends in a lovely pass to the onrushing Junior Hoilett at the far post and Michael Morrison pulls off a terrific tackle to stop the Cardiff striker from scoring what would have been a certain close-range finish.

    Fantastic stuff.

    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Wow. A game of pinball in the Cardiff box sees Che Adams almost score from close range before Joe Ralls then almost puts the ball into his own net.

How Birmingham City aren't 2-0 up I do not know.

  3. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 13 October 2017

    Bristol City 0-0 Burton

A relatively slow start to the second half, although Famara Diedhiou wins Bristol City a free-kick on the edge of the box.

Jamie Patertson tries his luck but his set-piece sails narrowly over.

Wow, a whole meal! Other brands of beans and cola are available by the way....

Oof. Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell has a go from long range but he fires straight at Neil Etheridge.

That's livened up the opening few minutes of the second half.

It's the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup tomorrow and National League South side Truro City are aiming to end Cornwall's 48-year wait for a team in the first round.

Falmouth Town were the last side from west of the Tamar to make it into November in the competition, only to lose to Peterborough in 1969.

There are 31 ties in total tomorrow, and the BBC Sport website will also be streaming St Albans v Boreham Wood (12:30 BST).

The draw for the first round takes place live on BBC Two on Monday, 16 October from 19:00 BST.

Steve Cotterill celebratesImage source, Rex Features

So far all going to script for new Birmingham City boss Steve Cotterill. He promised a lot of hard work and battling spirit - and he's certainly got that.

He also challenged his side before the game by saying he had inherited a team with potential rather than quality - but he got an immediate riposte to that in the form of Che Adams' superb solo goal.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock will no doubt moan about the marking and lack of challenges afterwards. But sometimes you just have to stand back and applaud goals like that.

    Bristol City 0-0 Burton

Half-time at Ashton Gate too where we remain goalless.

The home side have had 72% possession, six shots (three on target) and seven corners to zip.

But Burton are hanging on in there. Is this one that Nigel Clough's side might nick in the second half?

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson can't believe it.

    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Sol Bamba concedes a free-kick for bringing down Isaac Vassell, which is initially cleared but despite Blues' efforts to work it back towards goal, Che Adams concedes a goal kick and the referee promptly blows his whistle for half-time.

    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Cardiff keep turning the key and there's some lovely last-ditch defending from Jonathan Grounds as Junior Hoilett tries his luck from close range, which the Birmingham City defender keenly blocks.

Big chance for Neil Warnock's side, that was.

  13. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 13 October 2017

    Bristol City 0-0 Burton

Burton keeper Stephen Bywater is called into action again to tip away Josh Brownhill's effort for another corner.

Luke Varney gets his head to it to partially clear the danger before Hope Akpan completes the job for the Brewers.

  14. Postpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 13 October 2017

    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Junior Hoilett receives the ball near the halfway line and darts unopposed up the right wing and lets a shot fly from long-range.

But it goes well wide of the mark and the Cardiff City man is jeered by the home crowd.

Five corners for Bristol City now but still no reward.

Burton defending stoutly - and remember they kept clean sheets at both Norwich and QPR last month.

They might be decked out in owner Vincent Tan's favourite colours, but Neil Warnock's table-topping Cardiff Reds are so far finding it hard work on a ground where they have not only not won but not even scored on their last three visits.

Blues have certainly made a lively start under their new manager.

Fit-again Che Adams had already looked a threat even before marking his first start in two months with such a superb solo effort of a goal. It's sort of cutting edge that Fulham were reportedly ready to shell out £10m for on deadline day. And it's clear to see why he's been missed!

    Bristol City 0-0 Burton

Half an hour gone at Ashton Gate and we're still waiting for a breakthrough.

Still the home side try but Joe Bryan has a drive deflected off target by Ben Turner's block.

Burton midfielder Luke Murphy needs treatment for a back injury, but after treatment he's ok to continue.

David Davis plays a nice cross into the box that flies just over the top of goal. Che Adams picks it up after Cardiff fail to clear and thunders another shot but this time it's blocked by a Bluebirds defender.

Steve Cotterill's side are well up for this!

    Birmingham City 1-0 Cardiff City

Big chance for Cardiff goes begging. Junior Hoilett tries to play Kenneth Zohore through on goal from close range but Maxime Colin is on hand to clear the danger.

That's the Championship leaders' best chance of the game so far.
