Barcelona have just revealed that midfielder Rafinha has had surgery today.

A statement read: "The first-team player Rafinha underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Sunday on his right knee.

"It is worth remembering that the Barca number 12 is yet to feature for the team this season and that he underwent similar surgery on the internal meniscus of his right knee on 7 April of this year."

Barcelona's scoreboard today simply read democracia, which you might be able to guess means democracy.

Interesting sight post-match: as Sergio Busquets waits to give a TV interview pitchside, he is being intensely briefed by two suited club officials.

No doubt they want to ensure that Busquets – who is Catalan and has been with the club from his teens – doesn’t stray from the club’s version of why the game took place behind closed doors.

Lionel Messi - who netted twice today - has scored 45 goals for Barcelona in 2017, at least 14 more than any other La Liga player (in all competitions).

His cross for Sergio Busquets' goal was his 139th La Liga assist, and his 100th at the Nou Camp in all competitions.

Today he moved up to third on the all-time list of Barcelona appearances (594) - knocking Carles Puyol into fourth.

Barcelona did not want to play today, but they didn't want to lose the points either.

In footballing terms, the decision has paid off and Barca make it seven wins from seven at the start of the La Liga season.

He might not be Catalan but it would have been right if Lionel Messi, the idol of the nation, hadn’t scored today, would it? He made the finish look easier than it really was, but the contribution of former Manchester City trainee Denis Suarez was wonderful – a quite Messi-esque pass, in fact.

The pitch invader who ran on after the goal must be one of history’s most impressive exponents of his art… how on earth did he get in? Pulling off a pitch invasion in a behind-closed-doors game is worthy of recognition, for sure. Not clear what the piece of paper he was waving around was all about.

Las Palmas are hanging on now with 17 minutes left. Great work by Luis Suarez finds Jordi Alba, but his cross is held by the keeper.

A protester got onto the pitch somehow after that goal and he's dragged off by security. No idea how he got into the ground.
