Jose Mourinho's return to Portugal comes just two days after he praised Paris St-Germain in an interview with French TV and said United would not be his last managerial job.

The Manchester United boss will probably be asked about that, and also whether Marcos Rojo, who is yet to play this season as he recovers from knee surgery, or Luke Shaw, who has featured for only 45 minutes against Burton in the EFL Cup, might be involved.

Both were on the flight to Lisbon from Manchester yesterday.

  5. Morata to return?published at 14:01 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

Chelsea v Roma (Wednesday, 19:45 BST)

Antonio Conte says Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata is in contention for tomorrow's game at Stamford Bridge.

The Spain striker injured his hamstring during the Blues' 1-0 defeat by Manchester City before the international break.

He sat out last weekend's defeat by Crystal Palace but has returned to training with his team-mates.

Paul Fox: Super draw for both Irish teams. The home advantage in the 2nd leg for the Rep is huge. NI will be a tight fixture with Swiss.

Colin Enlander: I work in Basel and support @NorthernIreland, external - it's great!

Ben Clarkson: Predictions: Italy, Ireland, Croatia and Switzerland to advance. Switzerland can be surprisingly strong on a good day.

Peter Curwood: Sweden v Italy could be two fantastic games of football for us neutrals (who may all become adopted Swede’s for a week)

Matt Fuery: Well I don’t think that could have gone much better for our Irish brothers!

Paul Donnegan: I think both Ireland teams have got a chance to get through. Missing Italy was big!

Liam Ingram: Winnable ties for both Irish teams.

Matt Price: Those are some tasty play-offs. The Irish sides will be happy with what they have, the Republic more so I think.

James Lynch: Ireland fan, Denmark may seem a fortunate draw but they were in great form towards the end of qualifying, won 5 of last 6.

Unfortunately you're not getting any reaction from Switzerland coach Vladimir Petkovic because I didn't listen hard enough in my German GCSE class (sorry, Mrs Parker).

Here's what you lot think of the draw...

  12. 'We have momentum'published at 13:33 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    World Cup play-off draw

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill: "Naturally, we're just pleased to be in the draw. Being unseeded means it was always going to be a difficult tie. We're delighted to be in it.

"I know the Denmark manager, we used to play together. It will be an interesting confrontation.

"If you ask most coaches, you want the second game at home. But with the rules like extra time, it gives the away team that chance to score in 120 minutes.

"We have momentum and that's important. We won last two games to get here. I'm now concerned with the next couple of weeks and making sure my players don't get injuries at club level."

  13. Northern Ireland 'ready for Belfast'published at 13:27 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    World Cup play-off draw

Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill: "It's interesting to be the first team out. We knew it was going to be difficult. They've had a good campaign, but we have a big opportunity to get to Russia.

"We know we'll have to be at our best but we believe we're good enough to do that.

"The most important thing is we don't concede an away goal. We'll be prepared for Belfast. We've only lost one game there in four years."

  14. 'Now we can fight for the World Cup'published at 13:22 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic on facing Greece: "I have a big respect for opponent. It will be a difficult job. I trust my team and I hope we do a good job. We have enough time to prepare. I hope everyone will be ready and healthy. It's a big game but I'm optimistic.

"For me, I have the best team. Now we can fight for the World Cup."

  15. Managers react to play-off drawpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

Sweden coach Janne Andersson on drawing Italy: "It's two tough games but it would have been the same with other countries. I'm happy we know now. Now we can start work.

I haven't thought so much about Italy. I haven't put too much energy in to it. Their history is good, they've got good experience. We will go for it.

Greece coach Michael Skibbe: "We are happy to reach these matches. Now we are looking to Croatia. They are a tough team who are doing well. They are offensive but we are good defensively."
