  4. Blades look to return to formpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

Sheffield United v Hull City (15:00 GMT)

Sheffield United were chopped off the Championship summit on Tuesday after they were beaten 1-0 at QPR.

Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman was the unfortunate man to make a mistake at Loftus Road after colliding with team-mate Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Blackman misses out today for the visit of Hull with a back injury.

Cardiff's earlier defeat means a win for the Blades this afternoon would take them back to second.

Hull City boss Leonid Slutsky comes into the game at Bramall Lane knowing it may be his last in charge should the result not go his way.

Back-to-back defeats have seen the Tigers slump to 18th and Slutsky admitted earlier this week that the sack would be something he'd accept should it come his way.

    FT: Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Callum O'Dowda curled in a first league goal for Bristol City before Omar Bogle levelled from close range before half-time.

However, Bogle turned to villain by getting a straight red card for a late tackle on Marlon Pack and Aden Flint's header won it for the Robins. Bragging rights in the Sevenside derby are Bristol City's.

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Lee Tomlin has another chance, but this time his free-kick strikes the wall. Cardiff pump it long, but Bristol City stand firm and hold on for the points.

That's three straight league wins for the Robins, who move up to third - within a point of Cardiff, who stay second.

Lee Tomlin has his moment, but can't take it. The former Bristol City man curls a 20-yard free-kick narrowly over the bar.

There's plenty of time for Cardiff. Can they improve on their three shots on target and find an equaliser?

Cauley Woodrow picks up a yellow card for tugging back Junior Hoilett on the break.

It's approaching last chance saloon time for Cardiff, but it's not easy with 10 men.

  15. CLOSE!published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Josh Brownhill is very, very close to making it 3-1 for Bristol City. The 21-year-old drills a shot narrowly wide of the post from the edge of the box.

  16. SUBSTITUTION for Cardiffpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Now, here's a man who would love a goal. Lee Tomlin takes the field, in place of Craig Bryson.

Tomlin spent some happy years at Bristol City, but could he find the equaliser for the Bluebirds?

This is the difference between the two sides. I expect Neil Warnock won't be best pleased about conceding a header.

Bobby Reid leaves the pitch to a standing ovation. No goals for him today, but he's run his socks off. On comes Cauley Woodrow for the final 10 minutes or so.

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Around 12 minutes of normal time left at Ashton Gate, where there definitely still could be some drama.

Joe Bryan blazes over after a Bristol City corner. Surely the home side will look to shut the game down now with a man advantage?

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Cardiff are making a good go of it, despite being down to 10 men.

They look dangerous from set pieces, with the big frames of Sean Morrison and Sol Bamba a real handful. Callum Paterson's long throws will surely be used at every opportunity now.

  20. CLOSE!published at 13:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Bristol City 2-1 Cardiff

Cardiff really could be level. Callum Paterson swings over a cross to the back post where Danny Ward gets his head to it, but sends it wide.

Will they get any better chances than that?
