And yes, he does celebrate against his old club.

  16. Hamsik goes for Maradona's recordpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    Take 11

Marek Hamsik is only one goal off equalling Diego Maradona's goalscoring record for the club. But that has also been true for each of the previous 10 games going back over two months.

Hamsik has scored 114 goals in 473 games over a decade - but only once this season. Maradona needed only 259 to score his 115.

We have a proper title race on our hands this season in Italy. Napoli are only two points above Inter Milan, who host Chievo on Sunday.

Juventus and Roma are another two points back. Even Lazio, with a game in hand, are still just about in contention.

  20. Can Napoli really do it without Maradona?published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

Diego Maradona is still an icon in Naples

In their 91 years, Napoli have never won a Serie A title without Diego Maradona in their side.

Their golden era - which saw them win the Italian league twice (1987 and 1990) and the Uefa Cup (1989) - coincided with Maradona's seven years in Naples.

But this could be the year that changes everything. Maurizio Sarri's side have been sensational this season, winning 12 and drawing two of their opening 14 Serie A games.

We might have a better idea tonight of whether they are the real deal or not. Why? Their opponents are Juventus - who have won the last SIX Italian championships.
