    Ards v Glenavon

The last time Glenavon were down at the Bangor Fuels Arena, manager Gary Hamilton admitted he left somewhat embarrassed, as his team were beaten 4-0, no less, by Ards in the NI League Cup.

"They gave us a bit of a lesson, and hopefully our lads will have learned from that," said Hamilton.

"It was hard to take on the night. We know we need to be on our game."

If any Ards, or Glenavon for that matter, fans want to relive that 4-0 cup game, be our guest...

    Linfield v Dungannon Swifts

Linfield welcome Dungannon Swifts to Windsor Park today and will be hoping to continue the positive momentum that they have generated in recent weeks.

Back-to-back league victories over fellow title contenders Coleraine and Glenavon have reignited the Blues' defence of the Gibson Cup, and boss David Healy is in confident mood.

The Swifts travel to Belfast on the back a comfortable 4-0 home win over Carrick Rangers last weekend.

Manager Rodney McAree has described it as 'day out' for his eighth-placed side - let's see if it's a day to remember or a day to forget for the Swifts.

Here are the thoughts of the managers ahead of the game.

  4. Gray still has 'strong connection' with 'Pointpublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town v Cliftonville

Former Warrenpoint Town manager Barry Gray returns to his old stomping ground this afternoon with his Cliftonville side the form team in the Premiership.

The Reds have won their last five outings without conceding a goal, a run that has powered them back into the title race.

Gray admits he still feels a strong connection with Warrenpoint, but will be setting that aside this afternoon.

If Town are to cause an upset they must do so without top striker Darren Murray, who misses the game through suspension.

Here are the thoughts of the two managers ahead of the clash.

  7. Adds up to a home win?published at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Crusaders v Glentoran

Glentoran boss Gary Haveron came in for a bit of stick from fans after the team's 2-0 home defeat by Ards, so a trip to in-form Crusaders, unbeaten in 11 in all competitions, is probably not what he would have picked for the next match.

Nial Foster, BBC Final Score's commentator, has been sharing his homework with media pals at Seaview. Apparently, Crusaders have scored 72 goals in their 27 competitive matches this season.

That is an average of 2.66 per game, says Nial, whose days at the Cambridge House Grammar maths department were clearly well spent.

However, we can flip the stats to cheer up our friends from the east. Crusaders have won only half of their home league fixtures and Glentoran's away record is pretty good.

What about this? If the table was based on away form, Glentoran would be fourth, not sixth. There you are now.

  8. Good afternoonpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Full programme of Premiership action

Good afternoon and welcome to our coverage of a full programme of six matches in the Danske Bank Irish Premiership.

It looks like a day when none of the sides challenging at the top will want to slip up against teams currently placed below them in the top flight.

Leaders Coleraine are away to Carrick Rangers, while Crusaders hope to continue their recent fine run at home to Glentoran, who have been struggling to find any consistent form in recent weeks.

Glenavon hope to bounce back from their defeat by Linfield last week as they face Ards at the Bangor Fuels Arena, with another in-form team, Cliftonville, travelling to Milltown to play Warrenpoint Town.

Linfield host Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park and Ballymena United have home advantage against basement outfit Ballinamallard United.

So forget the Christmas shopping for now - the shops are too crowded on a Saturday anyhow and it's still just early December - and stay with us for the rest of afternoon as the action unfolds.
