A win would see Villa climb to fifth in the table, having started the game in eighth spot.

There have just been a couple of shots - both off target - so far and they've both come from Bristol City.

But midfielder Conor Hourihane looks likely for the hosts.

It is noticeably quiet at Villa Park. The home side haven't given their fans anything to shout about just yet.

Promotion contenders Derby and Sheffield United couldn't be separated at Pride Park after Leon Clarke's second-half goal cancelled out a first-half Matej Vydra penalty.

"I couldn't have complained if we lost today," Derby boss Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby. "I could sense this was going to be a difficult game for us.

"To take a point and carry on the unbeaten run is good. We were poor at times and we got what we deserved today.

"There was a lack of quality today. If you match that with a lack of energy that's what you get.

"To go to Ipswich and blow them away and get a good point today, I'm not disappointed with that. Four points is a good return from the two games."

Robins winger Josh Brownhill is alright to carry on.

Bristol City's Josh Brownhill has been struck square in the face by the ball, with some power.

It initially looked as though he may have blacked out for a moment or so but he is moving now.

The medical staff are on the field to attend to him.

Marlon Pack drills in low from the edge of the area but it's just wide. That's the first half chance of the game for Bristol City.

Steve Bruce's Villa are unbeaten in their past four home games, two of which have ended in draws.

When they played Sheffield United on this ground on 23 December, they were already 2-0 up by this stage thanks to a couple of early goals.

No such early drama this evening. Villa have the ball, in their own half.

It does seem as though Wolves are nailed on for the title but second place is definitely up for grabs.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo may be celebrating wildly at today's results. More likely, he's staying calm and preparing his side for tomorrow's home game against Brentford.

None of the sides in the top six have won so far today. Maybe Bristol City will buck the trend...

Bristol City haven't won at Villa Park since 1979.

These two sides played out an evenly-matched 1-1 draw when they met on a Friday night in August.

Josh Onomah's deflected effort earned Villa a point on that occasion.

Then Bristol City's seven-game unbeaten streak was halted in dramatic style as they lost to a stoppage-time Wolves winner.

Does that mean the momentum has switched Villa's way ahead of this one? We're about to find out...

What a ridiculous game at Huish Park.

Yeovil had two men sent off in the first half but looked on course for a point against Crawley in League Two.

An 11-minute delay because of an overhead drone meant a late finish, and Crawley's Thomas Verheydt netted a winner for the visitors.

Aston Villa make one change from Saturday's win at Middlesbrough, with Jack Grealish replacing injured Josh Onomah.

Bristol City are without suspended keeper Frank Fielding, so Luke Steele starts in goal. That's the only alteration from their defeat by Wolves two days ago.

Bristol City are still third after today's earlier results and will climb up to second with a victory.
