  1. Well will be 'right up for it' - Robinsonpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Celtic v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson says his side will be "right up for it" again today, despite facing Celtic for the third time in a week.

"Had we been absolutely battered fir the last two games, Celtic fans might have been bored by now," he told BBC Radio Scotland. "But we have made the games really competitive and it shows how far we have come.

Stephen Robinson says it would be an "upset" if his Motherwell side beat Celtic

"We have not come here to lie down, but we have to be right on the money again today.

"We need to stay on the ball a bit longer and be a bit more clinical. We just need that 5% more quality.

"It is not like Celtic are bringing in Under-15 players. With the likes of Jonny Hayes and Scott Sinclair, I don't think it weakens them at all, but we will be right up for it."

  2. Wright has "no sympathy" for late duopublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright on BBC Radio Scotland: "Our plans have been thrown into sort of chaos.

"Foster and O'Halloran haven't made it on time. We've had to make two changes before the game even starts.

"I've absolutely no sympathy for them. It's up to them to get on time.

"They've got caught up in something (a road accident), which obviously isn't their fault, but other players made it from the same area, but they won't be able to influence the game now.

"Well, Michael might be if he gets here because we'll put him down as a sub.

"Ultimately, it's a player's responsibility to get to his place of work on time.

"Inside, I'm not happy. It's not a great start to the game, but we'll deal with it.

"To have to make a change before the game which can be avoided is disappointing, but 11 players will go out and hopefully do a good job."

  3. Break in schedule helped Thistle recoverpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Partick Thistle v Hibernian (15:00)

Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald on BBC Radio Scotland: “We’ve been training well enough and the break has helped a couple of guys.

"Kris Doolan has an ongoing knock we are managing and Chris Erskine is now fully fit and back, Martin Woods makes the bench today.

“[Our last win] feels like a long time ago – St Johnstone here was our last victory [in late October], but we enjoyed that and it’d be good to get back to winning ways at Firhill."

Queen of the South v Inverness Caledonian Thistle (15:00)

Chick Young is reporting that Inverness Caley Thistle manager John Robertson's ire should not be directed at the Queen of the South board rather than the SPFL.

Our reporter is saying that it was the home side who rejected Caley Thistle's appeal to postpone the game after they had a 14-hour journey to Dumfries yesterday and did not arrive until the early hours of the morning.

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is fuming at Richard Foster and Michael O’Halloran.

Both still haven’t arrived at McDiarmid Park after being held up because of an accident on the A9.

Wright says others from the area they were coming from have made it here on time.

As for his opposite number at Killie, Steve Clarke, he is looking for the form pre-Aberdeen defeat as they look to get back on track.

The away side has won the past four of these head-to-heads.

  7. McGregor brings 'strength & experience'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Partick Thistle v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon on BBC Radio Scotland: "Darren McGregor has not played for a while. He may be a little bit undercooked, but he’s an excellent, very experienced player.

"He’ll give us that strength and experience we’re probably missing in Steven Whittaker and David Gray.

"This is a tough game away from home. Its important we win it, to continue being in and around the top-three, top-four.

"Anthony Stokes has trained well this week - he knows he crossed the line with me [in a training ground breach of discipline] and he can’t do it again. The matter is dealt with and he is back in the team because he’s a very good player.

"We know Aberdeen and Rangers have to play tomorrow and points will be dropped.

"If we win today, we can capitalise on that fixture tomorrow."

  8. Coyle faith in flying Eaglespublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Ross County v Dundee (15:00)

    Scott Davie
    BBC Scotland in Dingwall

Owen Coyle gives his former Burnley winger, Chris Eagles, a first start since the 32-year-old, who started his career as a youngster at Manchester United, signed on for the Staggies for rest of this season.

The County boss will hope the much-travelled Englishman can create chances for a team who haven't scored since hitting three in the first half against Motherwell three games ago.

Dundee manager Neil McCann will be desperate to build on that home win against Rangers with a first away win this season, which would take them level on points with County.

Craig Levein in a relaxed mood before the game. Happy with the work being put in by his players, just looking for that ball to find the back of the net. Hearts without a win in five, but they haven't lost here to Hamilton in 40 years

  10. Top games in Leagues One & Twopublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    League One & League Two

Top game in League Two is at Stark's Park, where second-placed Raith Rovers entertain fourth-placed Alloa Athletic.

Leaders Ayr United, who are at home to Albion Rovers, while third-placed Arbroath, who entertain Stranraer, will look to capitalise on any slip ups by the Kirkcaldy outfit.

New League Two leaders Montrose will hope to end Clyde's promising start under new manager Danny Lennon when they visit Cumbernauld.

Meanwhile, second-top Stirling Albion, whose game was postponed last weekend, are away to Berwick Rangers.

  11. ICT treated "poorly" by SPFLpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

Queen of the South v Inverness Caledonian Thistle (15:00)

Inverness Caley Thistle manager John Robertson remains unhappy that today's game at Queen of the South goes ahead after the Highlanders were stuck in traffic for most of Friday following a horrendous road accident on the A9.

Robertson reckons the Scottish Professional Football League was wrong to refuse the club's request to postpone.

"Our players are fatigued coming in for the match, some of them have slept, some of them haven't," he told BBC Radio Scotland.

"We just find we have been poorly treated by the league, Ian Blair in particular.

"We have a health and safety aspect here - we're talking about the wellbeing of our players to come out and perform.

"Had the bus still been in traffic at 12:00, we were going to turn back and go up the road."

  12. Will Terrors v Pars favour Buddies?published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Scottish Championship

The game of the day in the Championship is at Tannadice Park, where Dundee United, who St Mirren replaced as leaders in midweek, entertain fourth-top Dunfermline Athletic.

Should United slip up, Livingston could move into second with a victory at home to troubled Falkirk.

Bottom side Brechin City will have to overcome the odds away to sixth-placed Greenock Morton if they are to have a chance of narrowing the six-point gap between themselves and the Bairns.

Meanwhile, St Mirren, two points clear at the top, will look to consolidate their position as they entertain Dumbarton.

  13. Edouard will inject speed - Rodgerspublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Celtic v Motherwell (15:00)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC Radio Scotland: “We look forward to it.

"It’s unique that you play [the same team] three times in the one week, but every game is a different challenge.

“We wanted to put speed into the team today.

"Young Odsonne (Edouard) has been outstanding in training and has been unfortunate not to get a chance.

“Every time Kris (Ajer) has come in, he’s been outstanding. It gives us freshness and a lot of pace in the team. We want to put on a show at home, that’s important.

Brendan Rodgers says Odsonne Edouard has been impressive in training

“I can understand Motherwell are hurt from the final, so it’s difficult for them when they lose the game. What has probably failed to be mentioned is that the two referees were in spot-on positions to make the calls.

“What is also forgotten is that we played well in both games.

“I would hope we could be a bit more clinical in our finishing today."

  14. Buaben & Souttar in for Hearts, Hamilton unchangedpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Celtic v Motherwell (15:00)

Celtic have suffered a blow ahead of Tuesday's vital Champions League visit by Anderlecht.

On-loan Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts has been ruled out for several months.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers told BBC Radio Scotland: “Patrick is going to be out for a period of time. It could be anything up to three months.

"He is going back down the road to Manchester City to have another scan on it.

“It is just unfortunate. We will wait for the scan result, but he will certainly be out for the foreseeable future.”

However, there is better news about striker Moussa Dembele and midfielder Nir Bitton, who has recently deputised in defence.

“Moussa Dembele should be fine for the squad on Tuesday," added Rodgers.

"We just needed to get some work into his legs. He and Nir Bitton should be fine for Tuesday.”
