Brighton captain Bruno, who looks like a heavy metal rocker with his shaven head and beard, has the visitors' first meaningful effort of the second half.

Space opens up front of the defender and he lets fly from distance. His effort is sweetly struck but West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster is well stationed to save.

Some last-ditch defending from Brighton denies West Brom. Craig Dawson crosses into the area following a free-kick and Jay Rodriguez manages two scrappy efforts from inside the six-yard box, but Brighton's defence stand firm.

A positive start from West Brom to this second period.

West Ham have issued an "indefinite" ban to a fan who sparked an altercation with West Brom's Jake Livermore by commenting about the death of his infant son.

The Hammers said the man "violated a number of ground regulations" during their 2-1 win against the Baggies at London Stadium on 2 January.

Livermore, 28, avoided Football Association disciplinary action.

"Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated," said a West Ham spokesman.

You may recall a rather unsavoury incident involving West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore during their 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the start of the month. There's been an update this week.

West Brom deserve their lead and Alan Pardew will be particularly pleased with the way in which his side have defended.
